Please PM me for info. I don't want to post that in the thread. I just did some comparisons with the "unlimited" download we got for Wild Life from the download card and its HDTracks counterpart, and I sadly think the unlimited versions are only truly available on HDTracks. We did NOT get unlimited masterings via the download cards. That's so frustrating to me, the thought of having to pay again for this stuff in the proper form when I already bought the Big Barn Box. On one hand, I'm glad to have access to the unlimited files, but on the other, they should have been provided on the download cards, same as they always have and were advertised.
How do you know the HDTracks versions are unlimited? The info on the site has them as "Special Edition." No mention of limited or unlimited.
In the past, HDTracks has gotten unlimited versions of all of Paul's archive releases. I did some A/B testing from HDTracks samples on their webpage vs the download I got from the BBB, and it seemed to me to be less limited on the website. I won't know for sure until I download the actual files. One thing that's strange: the track times are not consistent on many tracks. I wonder why. I'm waiting for a sale and will purchase it and let you all know once I hear the actual tracks.
One interesting thing I have noticed about Wild Life: The track times for the downloads from the archive set and Qobuz are identical, while the track times for HDTracks and Spotify are identical - but those sets are not the same as each other.
The remaster of Venus And Mars is a tad too loud (for me) though. Think the volume became much more comfortable on the last few Archive releases.
I found myself actually turning up the WL and RRS reissues...my only complaint was "Mary Had A Little Lamb" is much more quiet than the rest of the albun or bonus tracks. It is especially striking because it is the leadoff track on CD2.
I listen to those downloads in my car, too. Those downloads are an EVERYWHERE thing for me. Physical media or not, I prefer the better mastering, wherever it may be found, and that was the point of my post: trying to get the other users here who also found the "unlimited" downloads lacking compared to all previous offerings. A couple people sending emails won't do anything, but more than that might. Doubtful, but the more who reach out, the better chance we have of getting our voice heard. I would have liked to have counted on yours, too. Enjoy the limited CDs.

Someone with the HDtracks versions would have to post the DR numbers for comparison. We’d also want to see visuals for “Night Out” to see if it’s clipped on HDtracks. All we have right now are comparisons by ear from @supermd.

I may be mistaken about Wild Life being unlimited on HDTracks. It sure sounded like it, but I have doubts. Could be a product of the compression for the website samples. I don't mean to get anybody's hopes up. Regardless, we did not get unlimited audio, as advertised. This is wrong.
I had a listen (and look) at HDtracks' offering of Night Out and it looked and sounded the same as what we have. I've also emailed MPL to ask them if there's an issue.
So now that we have the information (DR values) for the HD tracks versions can someone post (DR values)the downloads we got from our download cards. Or at least compare them to the actual CD's.

What caught my hear right away was I was not as impressed with the Wild Life download as I have been in the past with the previous "unlimited" downloads. I was not hearing that difference from the actual CD to the download. Maybe a comparison of the numbers between the 2 would help a little in sorting this mess out. That being said RRS sounds like the same to me between the 2 but in a better way, almost like they gave us the unlimited on the CD and the download....I've always felt something was just not right with the audio on these sets when comparing the CD's to the downloads.
