Is it possible to get a Kickstarter Campaign to finally get us The Beatles Volume 3 of the US Capitol Album Versions on CD? I'll bet we have an army of fans who would participate...

What are you wanting in a volume 3? Revolver and Hey Jude ? What else is different to put in a volume 3?

No. It’s not up to the fans to release. Those masters are owned by Universal. If they wanted them out they would be. It’s not about money or the cost of doing volume 3, it’s about how The Beatles/Apple/Universal choose to be represented. They made it quite clear with the US album box!

I love the first two probably for nostalgia reasons because that's the way I heard those songs for years but i'm not dying for a volume 3 personally.

I could get behind those. Original American mixes definitely though.

I thought all of the Capitol versions were released in 2014 with The U.S. Albums box set? :hide:

They were but not the American mixes. They just took the 2009 remasters and put them on the US Albums. It's the original mixes I think most of us want but I don't presume to speak for everyone.

What about the already released US CD versions of the above? I have those but don't remember if they were the original mixes or not.

The only album we did not get in it's original mono & stereo Capitol mixes was "Yesterday & Today". Up to that point we had
the Capitol mixes on the previous 2 Capitol box sets.
With the inclusion of the US Capitol version of Revolver and the Hey Jude album on the 2014 US albums box set
it means we only really need the Capitol Yesterday & Today mixes.

This would certainly make a good bootleg release. Go for it!

All kidding aside what songs on Capitol are unique and haven't been reissued? I can only think of these:
I''l Be Back (orig stereo Beatles '65 mix)
Strawberry Fields - orig US MMT stereo mix
    4 By The Beatles EP
    Rubber Soul- wet mix
Beatles '65 - original wide stereo mix
    Walrus - Capitol 45 edit
And Your Bird, Sleeping, Dr. Robert - US stereo mixes that were stupidly substituted on the Y&T reissue
Does anyone really want the faux fabricated mixes of Penny Lane and Walrus from Rarities?

Outside of the handful of other foreign variations yet to be reissued (All My Loving - high hat; Long Tall Sally - Canadian mono lp mix; I Reel Fine - German fake stereo version with longer ending; Tomorrow Never Knows -1st UK mono mix,) there's certainly nowhere near enough to put out on any new reissue, either Capitol or Apple/EMI

Yes and no. Some of the unique US mixes actually are in that box set. Things like the false start in 'I'm Looking Through You'...

I think the Vol 3 ship has sailed. I would love it but don’t see it happening.

    Three things...
Yesterday & Today and those unique stereo presentations.
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band without the inner groove ending.
MMT original tight sequencing (ala Pepper) and like Y&T, those rare stereo presentations.

Agreed. A blown opportunity, for sure.

I didn't know this. You mean the original US Dave Dexter mix of Revolver and the US mix of the Hey Jude album are, in fact, on the 2014 US Albums box? I thought everything on that box was just the 2009 UK mixes with the US LP sequences.

They are the same mixes in those cases — Dave Dexter was gone from the Beatles' operation by 1966

A couple of the unique American mixes are on the U.S. box set such as the reverberated I feel Fine and She's A Woman (on the mono, only, I believe)...but I'm with you...I'd love the crazily reverberated Second Album well as the duophonic stereo mixes of I Want To Hold Your Hand , This Boy and I'll get You or the reverb-drenched, Yes It Is.

Yeah I already had both The Capitol Years sets but I bought The US Albums because I thought I'd get the rest of the odd American mixes. It does look nice on my shelf though.

OK, so the actual 1966 US mix of Revolver is NOT on the 2014 box then, it's simply the 2009 UK remaster? And the Hey Jude CD uses the UK mixes as well?
