We live in the mountains so the humidity is low. Cooler than Long Island in the summer...

Goldprint Audio is within striking distance. We have audio stores in Kingsport and Johnson City.

Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, and now even Centralia & Chehalis are having issues with the homeless situation. There are trails nearby that I used to walk the dog on regularly, and only see other walkers/runners. Now there are homeless camps here, and in other small communities as well.

    Portland has these issues.

I don't know what the answer is to this problem is, but it's getting worse.

It is easy to do shopping on high end in Singapore.

But their housing cost is so high that most audiophile do not have adequate listening space.

Any community that has a large enough population that has had interest in music and audio for a long enough period of time that there can be items available locally to buy and sell as well as new products. Bigger citys aren't a guarantee but in general a better chance.

It’s often a challenge to demo and buy gear outside of major metropolitan areas. Folks who live in NYC, LA, Atlanta, Chicago, etc have access to more brands.

Yes, venues in Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City. Nashville is about four hours away.

My Line Magnetic and Rega gear was sourced from Goldprint.

I haven't been to Seattle in over 30 years, I used to love going there. That Seattle Is Dying video on You Tube sure didn't make me want to hurry back. I think I'll stay home, where I might step on rabbit crap or pine needles.

While they can't match New York, Tokyo for selection of equipment and music I would say Nashville,Denver and Austin seemed fairly good. Taking into account other considerations

Seattle was fun until the .com boom in the early 2000's and has been a growing pain in the ass ever since for many reasons.

Every big city tend to have problem including New York, Chicago, LA.

I do not want to live in downtown of Seattle either.

But there are nice areas around Seattle to live with nice weather in general.

Seattle is a great hi fi town. Hawthorne Stereo is one of the top Rega dealers in N. America.

If you want access to more high end, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore is better than New York or LA.

But once you had settled upon your system, Tennessee is not bad to enjoy music at home or some live.

Very true... litterly cra__ing on the sidewalks. There have been multiple television and newspaper stories about the problems caused.

I live in Seattle and cannot find any dealers with a decent variety of phono stages to audition. I had the same issue when looking for cartridges.

    I would say ... Italy ...
there are excellent builders, without being here to write about brands and models, there really is something for all budgets and tastes.
Then ... in Italy one lives (still) well, despite the fact that fascism is returning.
But this is a valid reason to stay at home and listen to music ...

As a rule we don't have basements in the UK.Or living rooms with enough space for large speakers.Or the ability to play music at a good level without disturbing our very close neighbours.
That is why we tend to favour small bookshelf speaker systems.Or Headphone based listening.
