I don't have any interest in her music, but it seems like she needs to do whatever is best to maintain her mental health and be happy. I'm sure she has enough money to retire if she wants to and pursue something else, I wish her luck and good health.

Interesting article. I'm not really a Britney fan, but I don't wish her personal ill.
The thing that amazes me is her manager actually seems to care, it's a shame a few more don't actually care about the people under their direction ... squeeze out the bucks and watch them die, then squeeze out a few more bucks.

Sad news for fans but likely for the good if this means she is putting herself ahead of her career.

Very glad I made the effort to drive a few hours to see her last summer when she put on an amazing show in Atlantic City. A class act and stellar performer IMO.

Honestly, after years of hearing how bad a state Britney was in.... I'm okay with this. She doesn't deserve to be another celebrity tragedy.

Just having a little fun. I'm no Brit basher - I saw her twice in the early 2000s!

I wasn't aware she'd ever actually performed live in the first place.

Lip-syncing isn't performing when you're supposedly a singer/musician. That's just standing on an expensive stage with a light show and moving around a bit.

Remember a few years ago when she was forced on stage when she clearly wasn't in a good state of mind? I'm glad to hear she's taking better care of herself now.

Is anyone really that bothered if she ever stands on a stage in next to nothing lip Syncing ever again ?
    I know I'm not.

A buddy and mine saw her in Vegas a few years ago. Of course she was lip-synching. Does anyone actually want to hear her sing live?

Looked great though. Fantastic, really. There went my pants

My own closest glance at Britney's
amiability was seeing her as a judge

on [* correction: X-factor, not Idol],
    briefly, through
    several of the clips
    posted on Youtube -
    though I can only
    assume she was (partly)
    acting out the
    role of "mean judge",
    presumably having
been hired as such to afford Simon Cowell
room to evolve into the friendlier face on the
panel, as his former role as mean-guy had
naturally transformed over the years. I
    felt
empathy and a trace of sadness,
perceiving what was perhaps a certain
    anxious vulnerability about her manner ;
not that she appeared to lack confidence
in any way- on the contrary - though some-
thing about her presence seemed to hint at
an insecurity that can often accompany the
    trappings of super stardom.

What I find rather awkward about the article
linked in the OP is that Larry Rudolph, having
indicated he is " ..the person who guides her

career .. " would give such an interview
".. based on .. information ... being told on
    a need-to-know basis .. ". But then I suppose
very little is kept from the public when one's
life is followed almost fanatically by the omni
present Paparazzi and social media hawks.
One could certainly understand a person
who has lived the prime years of her life
under the glaring spotlight to one day realise
the serenity of retreat into private life.

I wish Britney all the best, most importantly
health, inner peace, and true happiness.

It is all together too often that those who present with great confidence are actually masking great insecurity. Nice observation

You see I just deleted my post, but the thought still applies. I get sick of all these threads either being started or turned into a culture war. I guess all this negativity is just part of what we have become.
