    If someone didn't tell me I would think that is the Smiths. I loathe the Smiths so I don't know a ton of their songs and would just think that is one of them.

    I'm a binary (black and white) thinker and tend to also have syntax errors and have a "that does not compute" response to some questions.

    In this case, for me, a poor mans version of an artist would have to fall into this kind of thing:

    Brit Floyd is a poor man's version of Pink Floyd. i.e. poor man's version is always a tribute band or maybe a cover band.

    I was actually going to go with John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band(tho the Eddie and the Cruisers Soundtrack is classic), is a poor man's version of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

    As for John Mellencamp and the Boss...two totally different worlds and sounds
