    Great news!

I loved As You Were. Hope it’s more of the same.

Let's hope Liam put more thought into the lyrics than he did with this album title.

Doubt it. He has never been known for his way with words. That will remain intact.

I'm going to guess it will be just as bad as his solo debut. With even worse lyrics. Liam is the worst lyricist I have ever had the misfortune to hear. Makes Bloodhound Gang seem like Shakespeare.

Lamest album title ever. But “As You Were” was a pretty lame title too.

"As You Were" was sheer genius compared to "Why Me? Why Not."

Still, I'm hoping for some really clever and insightful lyrics from Liam this time around. But I'm an idiot. So there.

I'm sure there's a song with words that go :

    "I like rhymes.
    And I like time.
    And I like sunshine.
    It's all mine.
    Everything rhymes.
    With the words I like.
    Revolution Number Nine.
Is by the best band of all time."

If not, he's clearly paying someone else to write those songs for him.

Liam's songwriting has come a fair way since the awful Little James, I actually thought For What It's Worth on As You Were was actually quite a well written song.

It's easy to knock the guy's songwriting, but he's found himself without his chief song writer in the form of his brother, and he's giving it a go and very slowly he's getting better.

By his own admission he's not a songwriter. Yet he's putting it out there for people to judge - I think that takes a bit of guts. Good for him. It beats sitting on his **** doing nothing.

At 25 years into his career, he should be a lot better than "very slowly getting better". At best he was a talented interpreter for an excellent songwriter, at worst, a howling entitled throat who grossly overjudged his own abilities. The only thing that saved him from his certain fate as a construction worker was the fact his brother was a very talented songwriter. He's not been a nice person to many people.

Given the amount of Oasis songs he's playing, he's not putting anything out there for people to judge. It may seem harsh, but his skills don't sit in songwriting at all, and it's arrogant of him to think it is. I preferred him sitting down doing nothing. Though I thought splitting the band to reduce his earnings so he didn't have to pay much in the divorce felt at best co-incidental, and at worst, knowingly ruthless.

Also, he reminds me of the kind of meathead that bullied kids with glasses at school. So, um, not a fan at all.

    Surely that should be:

    'I like rhiiiiiyyy-mmmes.
    And I like teeee-iiime.
    And I like son-sheeeeeeiiiinne'

    Etc etc.

I think you need to listen to Lil Pump and NAV before you make the “worst lyrics ever” claim:

    Pump:

“Vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom”
“Don’t talk to me, nu uh, nu uh/don’t stare at me, nu uh, nu uh”
“I’m a millionaire, but I don’t know how to read!”

    NAV:

“I taste codeine when I burp”
“I could sell tags to a shirt”
    “I couldn’t tell nouns from a verb”
“Your label’s new artist is really a nerd”

    Liam Gallagher:

“What’s it to be free man?/What’s a European?”

While asking what a European is can be stupid, at least it’s better than being an illiterate rapper.

His charisma as a frontman is what saved him from "his certain fate as a construction worker" as you so so cleverly surmise.

And the greatest rock stars of all time were for the most part arrogant as hell. They're bastards just as Lennon once said:

"You have to be a bastard to make it and the Beatles were the biggest bastards on earth."

Liam is merely living up to (or down to depending on your point of view) the image.

He already is paying other people to write songs for him. “Wall Of Glass” was written by five people, including LG. He can’t do it by himself most of the time, so he needs pop producers to help him.

That's no crime. Elton John needed Bernie Taupin. Carole King needed Gerry Goffin. Benny Andersson needed Bjorn Ulvaeus. Ashford needed Simpson. Burt Bacharch needed Hal David. Mick Jagger needed Keith Richards. Jerry Leiber needed Mike Stoller. Etc.

Well he hardly went it alone. He had a team of professional writers in LA for his debut. And I am sure he will have ample support again. Not a knock, just some clarification.
