I don't recall seeing that. I remember that the GI Joe's in the 60's and 70's had a number of different hair colors.

It was most definitely the Marx Johnny West head on the body of a GI Joe or similar 12-inch army action figure knock-off. The hands looked like Hasbro GI Joes. If I can find a pic or or the scene on YouTube, I will link it.

 

I have the movie. At what time mark does this appear?

 

A couple of different places in the film. I will have to check.

 

My best guess is it is a combination of copyright and it mirrors the messed up mindset of these kids.

 

How easy was it to take the heads off?

Could just be a kid just switching heads on his toys.

 

Not very easy. The Marx Johnny West head has a long neck and plug that's solid rubber. You would have to cut off the head at a certain part of the neck and drill or dremel a hole on the bottom of the head to be able to fit on the GI Joe neck stem.
