I tried watching an episode of Twin Peaks. I can see why it was cancelled the first time. Slow, boring, stupid, and incredibly tedious-- just like a David Lynch film. I can't understand why it has a cult following.
Vida - the Starz series returned this weekend and didnt dissapoint! Still very much enjoying Gentleman Jack!
It was cancelled the first time because the second season lost its way and consequently its audience very quickly. I was rivetted by the first season however. Slow, boring, stupid & tedious are descriptions of The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, Wild At Heart & The Straight Story that I just don't recognise.
Season 3 of Brockmire. There's probably only one show that can approach Veep's level of acidity, and this is it. Great fun.
I've been watching series I missed & more BBC/ITV programming. This began with Luther. The latest ones: BBC &/or ITV Life on Mars: Time-travel, crime drama w/comedy ~ Aces!! The Fall: Psychological crime/suspense Humans - the last one viewed. Episode 1 of First Season. Sci-Fi drama/human interest. Canadian/US joint venture: Travelers All much more enjoyable than anything on regular US programming of late, including cable series.
Dead To Me, a Netflix original starring Christina Applegate (never better) and Linda Cardellini (always great). This is an extremely addictive and manipulative show that I'm trying hard not to binge all at once, but it is so good. I think I'm just biding my time before diving into Handmaid's season 3, an endeavor that requires large amounts of emotional support and frequent happiness breaks (like, say, a random Office episode or something). Jeez I need a new hobby.
Glad to hear this, as I'm awaiting DVD order of Dead To Me (don't have Netflix streaming). I hear you, w/The Office, though. I'm watching too much suspense/drama & do need some comedy breaks in between. There's not enough really good comedy. Just ordered The IT Crowd (BBC). (IT=Tech Support)/"office" show. Liking Brit. programming; though, the comedies sometimes look too silly, but giving it a shot! Anyone here watched it?
Agents of Sheild!!!!! Alternate Universe Mad Max Coulson, May dispensing whoop ass and love advice, Daisy and Gemma tripping out on hallucinogens from outer space, and Yoyo's new boy friend just got possessed by a giant alien bat monster. I love love love that they are making the last season just as completely Wackadoo as all the other seasons. One of the most pure fun TV shows ever and I will really miss it.
I think Mr. Robot probably. It's only gotten better every season. Seriously looking forward to Season 4!
Been enjoying a first viewing of Season One this week. A silly show, in the vein of the Naked Gun movies.
Endeavour (season 6 episode 1 Pylon) After all the stuff that went on last season the main characters are all sent to different police stations miles apart from each other and Thursday has gone down a rank (in reality he would have been in prison for perverting the course of justice). When a school girl is murdered everyone jumps to the wrong conclusion and the old team are brought together to solve it. The least weird season opener in three years.... or maybe I just didn't get the pop culture references.
