I'm still puzzled what was up with the RFK 89 set. Those weren't "holy grail" shows or anything (as far as I know) and it's not like they included video in it, so what the heck business did it have as a box instead of, say, a Dave's?!
I like it, but I can't say it's one I'm often in the mood for. Gotta have that "spark" to want to play it
Tulsa '79 > attended but have never been able to revisit...> miss read as Who was at_________. My mistake!
If you would be so kind, what do you remember of the show? There was some research done a few years back to find a recording, since it's not in the Vault. The closest anyone got was a fellow from Tulsa who is now a lawyer, but he did not respond to inquiries regarding the existence of his recording.
Truly not a question I can give much detail to in winter (oops) '79. I do recall this most beautiful person dancing right in front of Garcia and as usual in such situations he was watchful but this was different> he was VERY... Oh, for the days of low stages and maybe a security person sitting in a folding chair and just room to feel the music. Best I can do US... Sunday is my GD listening day to shows I want to revisit and today is 9/21/82 from a fun run of shows.
Well...realize that headyversion is a lot like Google search results. The more popular something is the higher up it shows in a search. It's not about the "Best" result, but the most popular result. Case in point. 8/27/72 Dark Star should not even be in the top 20. Maybe somewhere between 36-42. Yet it's right up there at the top.
It would be cheaper to engineer and build a time machine and go back in time to Nov 1973, buy tickets to see them all three nights, use your own recording equipment, and enjoy the shows and come back to present time. Just sayin...
I have most of everything issued from the Vault with the exception of years I just don't enjoy (call me crazy) but I have to say the Winterland 73 box is still one of my favorites!
I have the 8/27/72 Dark Star at #20 currently. Once I listen to more, it will likely fall into the top 40.
Listening to "Alligator" on the live portion of the Aoxomoxoa 50th "I guess I'll by this album again" Edition.
Powers been out all day. Bad storms. My house is ok....other had tree windows etc. Got a generator running the fridge so beer is 37. Pulled out my shure in ears and finishing up wembley 4/8/72 via Apple Music unlimited on my iPhone. Nice break from running the saw....something pleasant
Take care, man. Be careful. And I'm not saying that just because I'm finishing up "Caution" right now. Oh, wait, I was into "Feedback" when I wrote that. This is good live stuff with the Aox re-release.

I was hoping folks here could help - I've been looking for the poster for the August 23/24 1968 gigs at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles (Two From The Vault has all of 24th and some of 23rd) but have struck out - does anyone know of a poster for these gigs?
Thank you very much for that @dsdu, I searched high and low but just couldn't find it - it's just a shame it's an uninspiring poster for a couple of their greatest shows tho
