Would you pay $50K for this private Gene Simmons performance?

As part of the promotion of his "Vault Expirience" (www.genesimmonsvault.com) Gene Simmons will personally bring the vault to your house, sign items and give a performance at your house! This will cost you $50.000. Sounds great in theory but this is what you get for your money:



They look bored and sound terrible and should at least have rehearsed a couple of songs. Maybe have a drummer there too? This seems like a rip-off to me and absolutely noth worth the money. Very disrespectfull to their hardcore fans. On the other hand: if you were a major KISS fan this might be the greatest thing ever. Just having these guys at your house is a dream come true.

Worth it or not?

 

If you have the cash and are a huge Kiss fan, I’d say it’s very worth it. That being said, I’m not rich or a kiss fan so personally I wouldn’t buy this.

 

That’s pretty sad. This living room concert experience is a big trend for older acts. I have no problem with the concept, but I agree with you at least be a pro and put something decent together.

To your original question I say no. But maybe we can all kick in a dollar each and give it to them if they agree to stop.

 

He'll play with Ace for this, but they can't get him on the tour?

Then again, with all the energy he is giving this that might be an argument against that. His playing is ok but he looks like he would rather be anywhere else. At least Gene is giving it some effort.

I find the idea of someone coming to my house and interacting with me because I’ve paid them rather distasteful but chacun a son gout. If Gene’s willing to do this, then that’s up to him.

It's all in what someone is willing and wants to pay. I'm sure there are hardcore Kiss fans with the cash to gladly pony up for the experienced. Do I think so? Not really, but I have neither the cash nor the desire. I'm a fan, but even then I wouldn't pay that much.

That being said, I wonder how much Gene gave Ace for showing up.

I wouldn't pay fifty thousand for any home concert, that's the sort of thing you only do if you already have liquid millions. If someone gave me 50K and I could only spend it on a home concert ... well it wouldn't be Kiss, that's for certain. It would be interesting to see who you could get for that money on the basis of discreet inquiries through agents.

 

That was my thought, too. They put in effort I would expect from a bunch of 15 year old who are getting paid $25 total to sing.

 

It's always been about "the money" for Gene. And sadly, Ace needs the money..........

Funny how Ace's foot tapping never actually even comes close to the rhythm of what is played...
Through work I met both Gene and Ace. I might agree to having Ace over for a few beers (which would definitely attract a few guitar playing friends as well), but Gene... No way.
