The bootleg you saw was crappy video footage. Very few have seen the footage that was shot on 35mm film with the exception of Happiest Days which was featured on The Wall Immersion box.
Yes, from the recently (at the time) discovered film footage of the shows.
Unfortunately this release and thread will be of little or no interest to you.

Posted on the AFG Forum, unconfirmed source so take this with a grain of salt. Also, keep in mind that DVDs and Blu-rays will most probably contain duplicate material. I'm assuming that the following was most likely leaked by a distributor.

The TLY box contains about 20 compact cd's, dvd's and blu ray's and covers the period between the late 80's to these days. It relies mainly on image support rather than sound.

So we roughly get the following:

    8 cd's
    AMLOR
    DSOT (2 cd)
    TDB (1 cd)
    Pulse (2 cd)
    Endless River
    B-sides

    That leaves 6 dvd's/BluRays:
    DSOT
    Venice
    Pulse
    AMLOR 5.1 plus videos
    TDB 5.1 plus videos
    Endless River 5.1 plus videos

I think that this was a safe bet from the get-go. Roughly.

@rontoon Do you believe DSOT, Venice, and Pulse will have standalone releases further down the road?

I don't know but if they did I'd assume that it would be a very long road. More likely that individual sets will be available as they did with TEY.

I hope the AMLOR remix (80s-less version) makes the cut. And though some might not like them, I hope we get La Carrera PanAmericana, and Colours of Infinity soundtracks.

I would buy this set in a heartbeat! Venice was my point of entry for Floyd, DSoT I wore through two copies on cassette before buying the CD. All of the 5.1 audio material on Lossless BluRay and remastered DSoT/PULSE CD albums as well. Hopefully a PULSE concert BluRay with SD video and a lossless soundtrack. Take my money already!

I appreciate that post Roger Floyd isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but for those that are, i’m struggling to find fault with what is (reputedly going to be) offered for those that are fans.

Would have serious doubts buying that box. Don't need the original albums again. Don't have a 5.1 setup. Would only leave DSOT and Venice video to desire.

Same here. Next to that I rarely play music DVD's.

What is that DSOTM dvd? Im only familiar with the Pulse concert with the whole album being played, is that it?

DSOT (Delicate Sound of Thunder) not DSOTM (Dark Side of the Moon).

Perhaps, yeah. With all the talk about Animals 5.1, wouldn't it make sense for them to put that in? Why does Animals always get forgotten?

I've only had two cups of tea today, but I can't decipher this sentence - what does it mean?

It means there’s more video content than audio

Animals is Waters era. They have different companies / partnerships established for this era.

The set will be mostly video. Meaning 12 discs of video and 8 of audio.

I have to say that if this is confirmed, I am norm impressed.
The greatest thing about The Early Years was that it was ALL unreleased material, at least on this format. If the 20Disc format includes the original albums (7CD) and duplicated video material, then it leaves very little for unreleased material. VERY underwhelming.
And it would be so easy to do it with only unreleased material...

It's not confirmed. But if you take everything that 100% will be in the box, you get 20 discs. So this is my educated guess, sorry if I confused you

You did not confuse me. If the original albums are indeed there, that's how the box will most certainly look like.

Count on it. A good deal of this, if not the majority, will have been previously available via official releases.

I dont get why including the studio albums? I doubt they will be remastered and surely they know or atleast think majority of floyd fans already own the albums but hey ho either way ill buy it i really love the later years

Yup. I’d buy a 2-3 Blu-ray set of all the video but there isn’t much to get me to go for this box. 5.1 isn’t my thing.

I guess there is less Floyd involvement on this one. The TEY box had full support by Nick Mason, who is quite occupied at the moment
