Nice! A shame they only filmed brief snippets.

  8. What an amazing find.. Beautiful pristine 50 year old footage..That porch has no idea how lucky it is to be rocked by the Velvets

I don't think I've ever seen anything film footage-wise of the Velvets as good as the snippets in this, especially nice to have an interview with Sterling Morrison with audio!

If this was a Beatle thread it's have 2000 posts by now. I'm far more excited by any VU archival finds.

Isn't that the truth! As much as I like the Beatles, VU archive material is rare enough, well filmed colour footage is truly something.

Mo really rocked it! She looks so casual but is really into it and on it. Great drummer.

Getting to see clear shots of Mo in action was actually one of the most interesting aspects of the clip, I thought I was watching something from recent times when the first shot of her comes in, in her casual sweater. And she looks a lot like a friend of mine, something I had never noticed in any other photos I've seen!

Also nice to think that Mo and Doug are still around to see this rediscovered footage.

No wonder VU were never asked to play Woodstock etc as they just played with other shty bands see festival line up. Definitely a better night club band.

Great NY Jets sweatshirt. I know people who’d pay good money for that.

Just realised that this was filmed the week that they played at the End of Cole Ave club in Dallas...one source of my favourite live album of all time - Live 1969 ("We saw your Cowboys today..")..wow, so this was what they looked like on stage when they played that night. Mind. Blown.....

    I am speechless. Wow!

It’s just amazing to see and hear this lineup in action. I was blown away by the short clip that surfaced a few months ago. I almost skipped this thread because I thought it was the same stuff.

I had sort of resigned myself to the idea that I would never see footage of this incarnation. I love all the Cale era stuff - but, if I could go back in time, seeing the band in this video would my dream gig above ALL others.

The crappy quality 11 seconds short B&W clip of them miming Paperback Writer got far more interest here than this.

I was thinking the same thing. She looks like she’s carrying a little extra weight here, but there’s no bump visible under that baggy sweatshirt. Moe’s first child, Kerry, was born in 1970, so it’s possible she’s pregnant in this footage.

She didn't become seriously pregnant between until at least Feb 1970. She is on boots in January that year but then there's a gap between then & April when the band becomes a threesome. Seems unlikely she was obviously pregnant in October.
