Not all El Mocambo boots sound bad.

Sure, but the rest of the album is literally the aural equivalent of a still life painting, so I guess the Stones knew what they were doing when they named it.

This is the one I found on Youtube:

It's a soundboard, but barely listenable (at least the interesting songs like "Crazy Mama" and "Hand Of Fate"). It's obviously pulled from several sources, but there isn't a nice-sounding complete recording. It's cool someone pieced this together, but it's not something I'd listen to more than once unless a better source came out or the band released it as a Vault release. Which I still think they will one day. (Maybe a "club shows" set, with the already-released 2005 Toronto show and a few other small-venue gigs they've done over the years)

That’s a total shame, both are GREAT songs, especially Jigsaw Puzzle has always been a real favorite. I guess it’s too self-consciously self referential to work as a live track.

I can think of a nearly infinite number of setlists I’d prefer over this at a club show. :unhunh:

"Memory Motel" from Bridges to Bremen is fantastic.

Jagger seems to have missed one of the verses out but it was great to hear Keith sing his parts!

I was at one of the Philly 72 evening shows and as we were getting up to leave after seeing the historic Stones-Wonder collaborations on “Uptight” and “Satisfaction,” a Spectrum announcer told the assembled masses that the night’s show had been recorded for an upcoming LP. Obviously, not to be but there’s a soundboard recording somewhere....

Interestingly though there were 3 Philly shows in 72' almost every boot ever issued includes Texan cuts and is not a 100% Philly selection.
Part of the problem seems to be that not all title selections played on those dates circulate whilst plenty of cuts do twice or thrice from those dates.

I think the Bigger Bang 4 DVD set is going to be reissued; at least I remember reading something like that in one of the press releases.

I am skeptical they are going to release that box on CD. It will probably be a DVD project, like Stripped.
