Hey American brothers on the 4th of July, pay no attention to Terry Thomas' theory. Watched It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World last week for the first time in 20 years.
You took my O! instead I'll go with dunno what happened to this band, but haven't heard anything from them in a long time.
Yes. Plus Abbath and I do know Midnight. As for Devil Master we saw this video here before. The Satan LSD blotter! They look like a good laugh. Abbath should bring a playground slide and roll of artificial turf with him on every tour for his signature grand entrance.
When trying a band you've not listened to before and you hit repeat three times on the very first song. 2015
Something about that reminds me a lot of Possessed's Seven Churches album. I think mainly the guitar and I think I'm thinking of specifically this track:
You're right, there is a similar raw quality to the guitars. Q is for Quincy Wagstaff (I've got nothing)
A bit more Lik, the last two songs on that album. Still trying to digest (pun intended) this over-the-top lyrical grotesqueness and the compact, slick musical style. That it's so catchy is why I've lingered over it.
I was also in the archives. The archives behind the rotating bookcase. From way back in 1991. Converted to SH Forums' time that is last year.
Just picked up the 2018 CD reissue of that album that includes a 2003 concert DVD. Immortal - Sons Of Northern Darkness
I went back and listened to his first solo album, I'd give it 3/5 skulls. I don't think I'll purchase the new one based on what I've heard so far.
I couldn't help notice in that video the sound quality is superb. Posting again for convenience. When Abbath crosses the stage you hear a "thrang" at 1:32. It's a small thing but says a lot about the production. Now I want a DVD. Hey anytime anyone asks the eternal question once again about "What is Metal" I'm posting this video and saying cue to 1:15. Visually it's all there. I listened to it for the first time today. Right away I thought it a very different record from this new one. "Sober" was the first word I thought. I definitely heard Sam say it was his fav album of that year and that this is a continuation. I didn't hear that at all. The new one is better I think and more fun, less "sober". Holy crap you're so right. I should be flogged.
I think River of Nihil needs to be recognized for the success they had with this video. It was everywhere. The Grateful Death (hippie metal)
S is for Slugdge Why has this very, very fine Progressive Death album had so little play? Will fix. 2018 Song #2
