He was nothing if not a tremendous showman. He made a lot of old ladies very happy, and God bless him for that.

    Fine pianist, as well.

Indeed! He was definitely an amazing showman! Yes, bless him for that.

Wow. That's a pretty remarkable item for the timeframe. What are those worth these days? (They can't be easy to track down...)

Really? That's pretty surprising to me. They must've made a sh#tload of them.

The very first concert I ever saw was Liberace at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles. I was probably 10, so it must have been late 1983. I was mesmerized! A beefcake of a hunk drove a Rolls-Royce onto the stage, and Liberace was glamorous in his furs and bling. He was very funny, and I really enjoyed the show. A fine memory.

I liked him as Crandall and Harry on the Batman TV series.

He was great on Star Trek. (I know it's not him, but I thought it was when I was a kid, when it was first on.)

He was dead 17 years before you were born? He died in '87, so you were born in '04 so... You're 15 years old?? No offense, but shouldn't you be out, I don"t know, vaping or something instead of starting a Liberace thread?

Anyway, I bought my house because the realtor told us that Liberace had once lived in it! It turned out to be not true, but for a while I was planning on making our living room (where the realtor told us he performed) a shrine. All of his homes here in Los Angeles are well documented, and sadly mine is not one of them. His most famous house, the one with the piano shaped swimming pool, was owned by comedian Ryan Styles from the Drew Carey Show until recently.

I’m not interested in getting cancer from vaping. I get on here quite often to talk to others about my favorite music, my reel to reels, their favorite stuff, etc.

I have a copy of the `STARDUST` album, on the `Sears` label, which I presume is something to do with `Sears and Roebuck`?

Signed with a marker pen, including a drawing of a candelabra and over the track listing, the inscription `Liberace Loves You`, underneath his bow tie is written "I don`t want to write on my face by George!".
Loved watching him on TV when I was a kid, a showbiz legend.

So what you're saying is... Bob Dylan smelled what Liberace was cookin'?

That's awesome. To be honest, I thought you were much older but had made a mistake with the dates. I mean, I am always surprised when someone under 40 frequents this site - let alone someone at your age. I must warn you though: by the time you're in college, your mind will be so full of useless music trivia that you may need counseling!

That might be plausible on the counseling part, ha ha. I just type very formally for some odd reason, I think it’s because of my Asperger’s syndrome.

You write very well. Keep it up! (Now try learning a skill that actually pays well, like... piano. Just skip the candelabras. They'll throw you out of Alabama.)

I play the guitar and I mix to reel to reel tape. I even have my own small home studio. Thanks for the compliment!
