Jeff Garlin, guesting on the Cubs telecast, just confirmed that they will start shooting the tenth season in October...

I hope Larry is a little less ambitious this year, and goes back to telling the small stories that he does so well. Farce is okay in moderation, but I think he went a bit overboard in season nine. Also, there's rarely the need to go over 30 minutes.

Bringing back Wanda Sykes would be pretty nice too...

    Excellent. Looking forward to it.

Not sure Wanda Sykes would be a significant asset but it couldn't hurt I guess. Her own show tanked rather quickly.

Great news. I really liked Season 9; the longer episodes kept up the pace, IMO. LD and co. weren't straining for material after the long layoff. And I never saw Wanda's show but she is absolutely an asset on CYE, funny as hell.

I think the Jeff Garlin/Susie Essman thing has run its course......but that's just me. And,
    please, no more Funkhauser…...

Glad it's coming back! Definitely want more Funkhauser! I also want an episode where Sami actually has lines! Maybe Larry could be responsible for breaking up her marriage or killing her dog or something. I would like to see Wanda again if she's available.

The only thing I'd suggest if I were in a position to do so, would be to take it easy on the season-long plot. I know they can tie things together or create situations for each episode... but I'd rather keep it small than go too big. I mean season 2 where Larry is pitching a comeback show was an ok season-long plot because a) it made sense that might be something he would do and b) it provided opportunities to goof on an industry he knows well. Compare that to the whole Fatwa thing, starring in a Broadway play, opening a restaurant, etc. To me those where to too big and too silly and resulted in some weaker episodes to me.

Other characters that would be fun to see again... Paul Dooley as Cheryl's dad... Sweet Dee as Cheryl's sister... and more Richard Kind too!

Never saw this show growing up but am a fan after settling in a few episodes. I still mainly see Larry as his Bernie Sanders portrayal from SNL though since that was my first exposure to the guy and Seinfeld, despite being a very popular show in the 90s, was fairly ignored in the south.

Seconded. Was great that there was a callback in S9 with her.

Still tough to separate him from his Bernie Sanders bits on SNL. I missed this show growing up and so his time on Saturday Night Live was my only real exposure.

I'm only through the first season.
I'm a huge Seinfeld guy, and finally just got around to watching it as we didn't have HBO before. I like it, at times it seems like 'Seinfeld lite'. I didn't care for it at first, but it (and Larry David) grew on me.

Better to think of Seinfeld as 'Curb lite', in my opinion.

"Curb" is 100% Larry's vision. "Seinfeld" is what happened to Larry's vision after it was filtered through Jerry (not to mention the executives and censors at NBC).
