Imagine if the Beatles hadn't rallied one last time for Abbey Road. I dare say their legend would be diminished, their story imperfect.

If the Get Back sessions were truly their last effort, it would have made you think they really were on the decline. But yes, luckily they decided to reconvene one more time to prove they could be brilliant when they wanted to.

It is amazing that they did reconvene. Even with John's withdrawal from the band they were lucky to have George step up, not only working more closely with Paul but also producing two of the album's finest songs.

Oh man, I’ll do this sometimes. I find it’s nice to take a break to “change sides” even on a CD. Just seems natural.:pleased:

That's the thing though. The 'Come and Get It' on A3 is partially mock stereo so there's reason right there to go back to the drawing board and reboot. I love what Emerick did in the 60's but he couldn't have pooched the Sessions mixes more. Bring it on!

I guess the more common term would be 'fake stereo' but at least the percussion is rechanneled to make the track seem like it's stereo when in fact it isn't. No reason for it other than Emerick's well documented laziness during the 'Sessions' sessions. The fact that the Anthology team used these mixes rather than going back to the original 4 and 8 tracks was a major bone of contention among the faithful and rightfully so

Only Giles Martin is allowed to play around with the Beatles catalog, not us Beatlemaniacs!

I miss the break in the album. It was a pause. I think CDs really lack something because of the lack of a pause. I used to think that if I made an album I would have five or six songs before the sound of the needle returning and the sound of someone turning their record over and the sound of the needle back on the groove.

I'm pretty sure somebody would have done this. I would have but I never wrote brilliant pop songs and forgot to learn to play an instrument.

If the tracklist is correct there is no track which was already on Anthology III.

I’m after the Blu-Ray disc with the 5.1 mix and unlimited Giles remix used for the LP release.

Please cite evidence that "laziness" and nothing else, possibly external to Emerick, was the main factor involved. Thank you.

The Sessions mixes were done in 1984 or earlier. The laziness implies the use of those mixes when they could have easily redone them in time for the 1995 and 96 Anthology releases. It’s very well documented that Apple didn’t bother

Apple didn't bother, didn't do this, for whatever unknown reason. Okay.
