If I had made a longer list, Bon Iver and The Black Keys would've made my list, too.

Okay...limiting it to ten, and all debuts 1980 or later, only “groups”...,

    Rage Against The Machine

    Morphine

    LCD Soundsystem

    Wilco/Son Volt, cheating, I know!

    Massive Attack

Okay, solo, or band? Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

    NIN!!!!

    Social Distortion

    New Order

    Morcheeba

    That was tough!

I don't think I've ever heard anything by either of these artists, and the only name that seems somewhat familiar is Youth Fountain. I'm guessing they're all Indie artists. I'll have to check them out.

Well, I just now noticed it says post 1980, as in the year 1980. I was thinking the decade. Anyway, what I listed still stands. I'll name some 80s bands later.

I'd give The Cure a free pass. They're too much of an '80s band to be "ignored" in this thread.
