OK, that's a start. How much better? In what way/s better? The CDs weren't "loudness wars" casualties, I'm assuming?
Been discussed. Comparing with 70s pressings some are better or at least as good. I think DSOTM is most disappointing (though still good) and Animals provides a rather different balance. More is quite the best I've heard it. Also take int0 account the early albums can be noisy due to wear or pressing quality. I think it's close with most of them.
What we really need next is "Live At Pompeii", "Is There Anybody Out There" and "Live At Wembley". "Echoes" would be cool, yes, but we have the originals around. Mine is in great condition so I'm not sure if I would jump on that one.
i must have struck out my reissues are full of pops and clicks especially animals and wish you were here
Christopher. It might help to give it a wash. I've often experiensed new records being dirty and static. I wash the and usually that helps. Regards from Runkeldunk. My first post btw
Geez …… remember the days when you could just play an LP straight out of the jacket, at least the majority of the time, with no cleaning required? And it sounded fine? FFS.
Oh ya I clean them before I play them, you have to now a days I used my spin clean snap crack and pop lol, then I used my groove washer brush snap crackle and pop, lol these new pressings are really hit or miss, I just bought my first vacuum machine yesterday so excited it will be here in a couple of days, congrats on your first post man welcome God Bless you
The Pulse 4LP set is a must-have, simple as that. A stunning live performance. Also, the vinyl has One of These Days, which is absent on the cd.
I don't think such a set will happen. Besides, IF it comes out, it will only be on cd, I suspect, like the Early Years box.
I don't play vinyl anymore but I've been thinking of picking all these reissues up just for the full size album artwork in brand new condition. They look fantastic.
I played A Collection of Great Dance Songs today, and I noticed that Money was slightly different from the original album version. Are there two versions of that song?
'Money' was under the Harvest/Capitol label while the Great Dance Songs compilation was Columbia. They just had problems with licencing the original recording, I guess.
