To be fair to Apple, they have to deal with the betrayal of an employee. That’s something every employer takes seriously.

What we’re hearing about ‘Abbey Road’

At this time, the “Abbey Road” 50th anniversary set is 3 cds and a Blu-ray. The first disc is the remix, the second CD is alternate versions in order (with “Her Majesty” in its original spot) and a third disc of tidbits and associated songs from the time period.

Our source heard the first run-thru of “I Want You” from Feb. 15, 1969, at Trident Studios and said it was “haunting.” The 5.1 surround mix has the “Because” vocals-only, as well as the separated vocals from “Come Together” (which finally settle that is is indeed Paul on backing vocals).

For the book, Paul has contributed 80 “never before seen” photos by Linda from the studio sessions, and Kevin Howlett has done the majority of the writing.

At this point, both Paul and Ringo are due to attend the Aug. 28 unveiling of the album at Abbey Road’s Studio 2 in London.

No offense to any insider, including those in this thread, but I find this whole “I know something you don’t” and the games being played here with the whole holding candy in front of everyone’s faces to juvenile clues such as “yellow and red” so everyone posts yellow and red guesses do be incredibly immature and childish. Do we really have to act like a bunch of petulant children?? Just announce it at announcement and leave it be. I don’t care if things are leaked or announced early and I won’t demand that I know certain things about it and demand answers about it. Why should I? It’s not going to be released sooner. The “insiders” here shouldn’t be encouraging said juvenile behavior in this thread. Don’t give subtle hints and play games.

I agree. I never buy bootlegs, so if Apple decided not to include something because it's been bootlegged, I would be mad about it, because it would mean they care less about people who give their money to the right owners.

It's a pity, but I'm not mad. I have plenty of copies of the original mix, in different forms. It's readily available. The mono mixes were not, so I understand why they included them in the previous sets.

It’s mostly just in fun. Either you like it or you don’t.

I had a dog who didn’t like to play, and when the other two played she would jump off the couch and growl at them until they stopped. It was pretty funny, really.

I rather enjoy having crumbs dropped by insiders as it passes the time, adds to my overall excitement about the upcoming release, and allows me to enjoy things with my fellow Beatle fans. No harm no foul. Keep the crumbs coming!

Labelmate and contemporary Steve Miller announced his "From the Vaults" box set two months ago for an October release-also through Capitol/Universal.....big difference is Steve and his "people" are not dealing with "the Apple Empire".
