Thanks for the straightforward information. This list somehow feels "right". I appreciate you not giving tiny table scraps of information, talking in hints and riddles, implying that you have a direct pipeline to the Beatles camp, and not using those damn "winking" emojis. Or mentioning trousers. You're now my fave fab gear "insider".

Exactly. People who view it that way are probably still in elementary school, or maybe jealous. I actually like the little hints. It’s fun.

I am quite confident that the crew delved into the tapes, and if it's not here it's because someone doesn't want it here (because it's sub-par, or they want it somewhere else) or it doesn't exist.

    IMO !

Little Orphan Annie’s Decoder Ring also comes to mind when it comes to classic serial teasers. Goodness where would we be without them.

Anticipation fuels liftoff in my opinion.

I doubt that the leak will force their hand to announce before the planned date which is still some time away

The John & Paul chat from "The Ballad Of J&Y", where they call each other Ringo and George, would be nice to have.

Yeah. Him and Mike are only going off of what other info has been leaked. They brought no information forward (that I know of that could cause issues.)

    Precisely.

For record labels, the upside of file sharing is that it's made profiting from bootlegs a lot harder.. and it can be argued that the easier access to live shows/outtakes has fuelled interest in archival stuff, opening the market for big box sets.

For instance in the 1990s-early 2000s, the whole internet community that grew around trading Smile sections & trying to piece together the album from mp3s.

The Pepper box did not include any home demos (some of which have been booted) and the Esher demos released last year, though taped at George's house, are of studio-quality.

The upcoming Abbey Road does not seem to include Paul's and George's home demos (which have not been booted), but will include George's studio-quality demo of "Something" and the tracks on CD2 & CD3 seem to be in chronological order, just like the ones from last year's White Album box.

Track 1 on CD1 is take 32 of "I Want You" (recorded on February 22 at Trident Studios), and Mark Lewisohn mentions on his "Recording Sessions" book that 35 basic tracks were taped on that day with John's guide vocal, adding that "one experimental take was sung by Paul McCartney".

Track 3 on CD1 is the "Something" demo recorded at EMI Studios on February 25, and between those two tracks there is the "Goodbye" demo. Assuming for a moment that the leaked tracklisting is correct and "Goodbye" was not recorded at Paul's home, I'll offer some speculation:

    1) Track 2 on CD1 is the "Goodbye" demo we all know and love. It was recorded at either Trident Studios or EMI Studios in late February by Paul alone and now we will have it from the multitrack tape.

    2) Track 2 on CD1 was recorded during the February 22 session (just like an impromptu "Let It Be" was recorded during the session for "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and never mentioned for 50 years) and this is the so-called "experimental take". Perhaps Mr. Lewisohn did not listen to the complete session tape (or just looked at what was written on the tape box without playing it) and provided an innacurate description.

Well if this is what we are in for it's going to be great! I love the way that the "White Album" Deluxe CD Set was housed! This sounds very similar!

Exactly, I don't have fear for myself at all, the leak did not come from me. But how it will effect me is that now there will be scrutiny on posts so adding anything here at this point would be foolish. And while it's great for those folks that are fans and just want everything now, it makes us that more cautious about sharing. Now it's wait and see

I was annoyed they allegedly didn't release the heavier version of Sour Milk Sea because there was a bootleg for it. When George was alive he asked Ken Scott to look for as many bootlegs as possible, so he could release them in better quality. I think he had the right mindset there.

Tbh I don't have the same feelings for this Abbey Road release as I did with the White Album. It's one of my favourite Beatle albums, and it'll be cool to hear any outtakes, but I'm not that invested. I'm more interested in the new Let It Be film and seeing more of Linda's photos.

I won't be overly dramatic, usually you try to do things slowly....a little at a time where you do not bring any notice to yourself. What was done here today is jumping up and down while waving two large red flags and screaming look at me, While sticking both middle fingers up at Apple/UM. Problem is, while certain folks posts will be looked at....they will see others bringing undue attention to the rest. As I always say, It is a crazy industry for sure. What's done is done at this point, it just hinders us for awhile until there is a conclusion

We have graduated from scrambling and begging for crumbs. And graduated from being grateful to those, popping up from time to time, who are throwing random crumbs, to now being escorted to a nice seat in the restaurant, being given a menu, and having some time to consider if we really want to buy the ultra expensive delux meal. Or just feast on some tasty snacks.
