This is one of the most beautiful albums I've heard.
It's also close behind Bob Dylan Bootleg Vol. 4 1966 on my list of favorite live albums.

Great CD and wonderful souvenir for those of us who went to that show.

The vibe between the two was seemingly great and you could almost believe they would continue to pull off reunion shows as long as they could get on stage. Alas, those days are long gone.

The Magic of the Everly Brothers was gravy.

I saw them in Boston. They did the expected encores and with the house lights on and some of the audience beginning to file out, they came out and did an extra slightly ragged Mrs Robinson. How fun!

It's such a great concert to watch.
Those two are absolutely the best when they are together.
Complete with humorous banter about their on/off relationship.
The Everly's segment is worth the price of the DVD in itself.
Sounding and performing better than they had in years.
A shame their relationship continued to be bitter til the end.
While Simon & Garfunkel, still hope for those two.
Wouldn't a new album be a great expectation?

I don't say never, but the last time I read Paul Simon on the possibility he said nope, they don't even talk anymore.

It is a great product - and if you have the DVD (perhaps it is on the CD) there is a recent studio recording of the two. Something that is rarely mentioned. Citizen of the Planet. And it includes one of the last ever performances by The Everly Brothers.

And a great song it is too - Citizen of the Planet. (It's on the CD too)

Ah yes, I forgot about that one! Gosh how great is their blend.
Geez! Wish they'd kiss and make up and come back.

First, let me say that I agree that this is a fantastic release, and an amazing coda to one of the all time great collaborations in 20th century music. I haven’t listened in a while, so I’m going to throw on the DVD later today.

Second, as a bit of a Threadjack, I’ve been listening to a duo called the Milk Carton Kids, and I find they have a bit of the same magic. Their latest album has been in heavy rotation for me.

Third, I think a one off EP or something similar would be a nice epilogue to their story, so I’ll keep hoping they can patch it up while they still have some chops left.

Edit: Fourth - holy crap, I can’t believe it’s 15 years since this came out.

I must get this. Not generally a fan of live albums but Simon & Garfunkel are a notable exception

The rare 1970 TV footage - is this the same TV special that was included in the deluxe Bridge?

This is a wonderful live set to listen to! And a companion piece to Central Park.

The DVD (visually) is yet another victim of the improvements in technology in the last 15 years. Looked fine in the old Blu ray player + old TV combo, but this TV, bought just 5 years ago, and the Oppo 103 have it looking closer to a VHS tape. Yet it has moments where it appears very clear.

I tend to side with Artie here...it was a good album - one of my favorites - but from what I've heard of the outtakes, it could have been more.

Don & Phil did LET IT BE ME on that tour....at least they did the night I saw them in Albany. It was mind-blowingly beautiful.....

And it's *NOT* on the album!

Couldn't have the Everly Brothers outshining Paul and Artie on record now, could we?

Yes, I saw them live in 2003 and if I recall, The Everly Brothers did 4 songs, but one of them is not on the DVD or 2CD set.

One of my top 3 shows ever. The vibe in the arena was like seeing them in a 40 person capacity club. This thread reminded me to capture the much better sounding DVD audio. The CD was horribly compressed if I recall correctly.

    Ahhh! Damn
One of their best songs in the catalogue too, and both thought of it as their favorite song.

'Wouldn't it be Nice', if there could be just one more 'Simon & Garfunkel' album of new material?
No touring required, no huge commitments, they wouldn't even need to be in the same room....
It's a common thing these days anyway.
Their blend is too good to fade away like this....

Last time I heard Paul comment on that he said they don't even talk to each other anymore.

Personally, I think another album would just tarnish the memory of what was so great 50+ years ago. I don't think they could do anything near that good now.
