Hope I’m wrong but The Hateful Eight just may end up the superior film over Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. 8 has the advantage of being purely fiction. Hollywood’s strength imo with be period authenticity and music ..anything else a bonus.

Don’t even say that. I hope there’s a ton of fun cameos. What’s Samuel Jackson playing.?

I never got around to it and was going to wait for the Whole Bloody Affair to come out but then I realized Quentin might be creating his own little movie myth there, and then I figured all the crap going on with Harvey W. was the final nail in the coffin, and oddly, just then I came across a really cheap BLU with both Kill Bill movies. Not a very interesting story but there you go. I liked Volume 2 a lot. I'm an exploitation buff and a big fan of David Carradine and it was fun to see him truly engaged in something for a change, especially in the latter part of his career. He could be a very good actor when he gave a shyte, which wasn't often. I don't always love Quentin's movies but he has a knack for pulling strong performances out of people. Ah, but I digress....

Back on topic, I recently saw Billy Jack again and then I read somewhere that Brad Pitt is basing his Hollywood character somewhat on Tom Laughlin, which I think is awesome. I think Tom's 'style' served as a prototype for future 70's action stars. I also discovered that if you FF past all the counter culture hippy BS, you can watch Billy Jack in about 45 minutes. :uhhuh:

  4. But all that BS is what makes it such an entertaining/amusing time capsule. :)

I can see that, though for me, that stuff was tedious and there was WAY too much of it for my taste, but each to their own. It's most definitely a very eccentric film all around, but all of the Billy Jack movies were that way; always a bit offbeat. I guess that's why we remember them.

It turns out tickets for these showings are only selling online. The only ones at the door will be from no shows. Usually they keep a batch for the door.

I also thought that 2 was a better film than 1 was. I didn't come across many other folks with this same opinion.

1 has some interesting parts, but no where near the plot advancement or ideas and concepts presented as 2 does. Not sure one needs to sit through 1 again if they've seen it once already.

Thought I'd bring this up since we're talkin' Tarantino here:
I alway thought "Dogs" & "Pulp" were kinda of 'mash-ups' of Scorsese & Jim Jarmusch!
