Just look on Amazon or Ebay. Hi-fi accessory companies always have sets of small levels.

Is that not really for surround?

It's for two channel as well. The difference is amazing. Gets rid of room modes like rolling up bass near walls. Balances out highs mids and lows (not just evening out speaker levels) You can hear all frequencies without one overshadowing another. I can't listen without it now... Very room-dependant of course. And it's done digitally so if you are strictly an analog guy then this isn't for you. :)

Slick Willie just posted an Amazon link for the level... Thanks for your help. :)

Would you believe that I never thought to use the headshell alone to sight for level... Great idea! Thanks.

Thought so, found it odd to be mentioned on a thread about tables.

Lol, sorry, ya, I've been so focused on the digital side of things lately that I kinda forgot that this is an analog forum. I'll try to be more mindful next time.... I actually run my turntable through the computer to benefit from room correction... I'm ducking now. :)

Ha! I know a guy who runs all his vinyl through that new fangled "declicker" that removes surface noise digitally......so all his AAA vinyl is converted during play.
My amps don't even have digital inputs....perhaps I'm too old school?

It's all good...Room for everybody. My best friend is all analog. You can imagine our 'conversations'. He's like Dude! You convert your turntable's output to digital??? What's the point??!! Lol, yet we manage to remain friends. :)

Got my transformer yesterday and spent a couple hours with the TT.
What an amazing table. I love everything about it.
The Lyra Delos is a thing of beauty also.
I got everything dialed in. 1.755 VTF 0.3VTA and anti skate 1.6.
I have been reading a thread on audigon where J Carr answers a lot of questions on the Lyra. He recommends a low capacitance phono cable that I'm ordering today (32pF).
Does anyone know the capacitance of the tone arm cable? According to Carr 100pF is about standard.

I forget....what head shell are you using?

    Using the stock for now.

KAB told me it's only about 10pF. Carr may be referring to tonearms where the RCAs come out in an unbroken run (like on a Clearaudio 'arm). So in the new Technics 'tables add about 10pF to whatever interconnect you use to account for the tonearm wiring.

Cool, that should give you the best clarity.

    That's really low and great.
I copied this from a post from Carr.

Nonetheless, you may try setting your phono stage's loading according to these number pairs. In each pair, the first number is the total capacitance between Delos and phono stage (in picofarads), the second number is the corresponding optimal impedance range:

    50pF - 510~270ohm,

    100pF - 390~200ohm,

    150pF - 330~160ohm,

    200pF - 300~150ohm,

    250pF - 270~130ohm,

    300pF - 240~120ohm,

    350pF - 220~110ohm,

    400pF - 220~110ohm,

    450pF - 200~100ohm,

    500pF - 200~100ohm,

    550pF - 180~91ohm,

600pF - 180~91ohm. In each pair the first number is selected to suppress any peaks at RF frequencies to approximately 3dB (which should be acceptable to nearly all phono stages), while the second number will give 0dB (at the cost of slightly poorer phase response and reduced dynamics

Based on this I am at the very lowest pF.
I have a Sutherland 20/20 set at 54db and 200ohms. It sounds pretty sweet.

So playing around this morning listening to John Coltrane Giant Steps.
I've found so far that I like the gain and the capacitance higher
    SPL - 67db/470ohms
    20/20 - 64db/475ohms
Music just seems faster and more energetic.

I'm absolutely loving this table but I'm noticing as the records play they're building up a lot of static.
This is a 100v table I'm using with the stock USA power cord and a step down transformer.
My grounding wire is well secured to the table and amps.
I'm also using an acrylic 3mm mat
It's really humid weather and according to my thermostat about 55% humidity in the house.
Any ideas what may be causing the static?

I'm about 4 hrs further inland than you and I noticed some slight static yesterday when I usually experience almost none...stock mat BTW.
Don't know if that means anything...

I suppose it could work for az providing the cart and head shell are spot on.

    I think I have a great combo.

Technics 1200G with heavier tonearm weight, Boston Audio "The Mat", Lyra Delos loaded at 100 ohms on Pass Labs XONO, back to Arche Headshell, Tracking at 1.70 to 1.71. Anti skate about .80 grams I do not know why they recommend 1.75 for the Delos. Way too heavy.

    This sounds absolutely awesome IMO.

Eh, centered is centered. I’m not sure what benefit the degree markings would be for a headshell level, and actually the round bubble type lets you see that both azimuth and VTA are level at the same time. You’re only going to get azimuth “close enough” by physically leveling the headshell, anyway.
