...they used that same gag in the movie "Halloween 4." I remember sitting in the theater like "Well, somebody is a Freak Brothers fan." Haha

I used to read the Freak Brothers back in the 80s. Great stuff.

Does anybody remember the game Dealer McDope? Shelton was involved in that one as well. It had a board design where you had one side where you bought drugs, and the other side cities where you were selling them. It was a very well-designed game.

I remember seeing adverts for in in the comics, but never saw an actual copy of the game. I would imagine it's quite a collector's item by now.

Dealer McDope made a few appearances in the Freak Bros. series, and had a couple of solo adventures as well. I had (and may still have) a Dealer McDope issue somewhere in my old comic stash...

I used to play it with my brother and his stoner friends... and would win every time because I was the only one who wasn't baked.

    I don't remember Dealer McDope

But I do remember when Norbert the Narc put some sort of odor-detecting microphone in their apartment, and then Fat Freddy came home from the Mexican restaurant and blasted him right out of his surveillance van.

A few years ago there was rumblings about a full length animated style FFFB movie, and there was a blurb about it on the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers Omnibus book. I also found this on-line.

On a side note, I am sooooo glad there are others here who remember the Freak Bros.

My brother and I have only had each other to quote the Freaks to for the past thirty or so years, because nobody else we know is familiar with them.

To this day if I get my bro on the phone, all I have to do is mention "Oat Willie" or "Little Orphan Amphetamine" and he'll start riffing stuff back at me. It's a sickness. :D

Have they specified yet where this new animated series will premiere? Netflix, Hulu, etc.?

Last I heard it's supposed to be on Netflix, but that was about a year ago.

God, that was stupid and repulsive. The story line and voices were inane. What did that have to do with The Furry Freak Brothers? Who felt the need to do that?

Okay, that's a whole lot better than I anticipated.

Thinking about it in a few minutes since I saw that, I realized that they approached the Freak Brothers in the only way that they could. It's not 1969 anymore, and bringing them into the current day as "fish out of water" works. Come on, they're from more than 50 years ago!

Mmm. Not really ringing my bell but each to their own. Fat Freddy's Cat was always my favorite and seeing him anthropomorphized like that doesn't really work. I'd rather see him dealing with the roach armies and leaving 'presents' for Freddy, but I am old school. Maybe they should have done Wonder Warthog instead.

Remember that Fat Freddy didn't get any free pizza because he couldn't show Oat Willie his voter registration card.
