You will be right no doubt. Egypt, the mathematical nature of the pyramids, ancient mysticism and conspiracies all lend themselves to Tool. The god like figure from the 10,000 booklet always struck me as rather Egyptian.
My only concern, with this 'strange' logo, is that someone - at any moment - says that it's not 2019 written there. "In ancient times that symbol meant 9 or infinite..."
Not crazy about this logo either. Hopefully it's just a one-off promotional thing. Otherwise, need to see it in the larger context. If there is indeed going to be an ancient civ theme to the new music and artwork, and given the probability of some kind of elaborate packaging, I would love to see the new album housed in a pyramid-shaped box.
Tool’s Twitter account posted the Undertow release date info earlier today after showing Opiate the day before so depending if they include Salival in the countdown, we should get some new album info in 4 or 5 days!
And according to Hellboy of fourtheye.net, good possibility of new single release this weekend! Album "countdown" on Social Media - Fourtheye
I guess the question is whether or not Salival will be included in the countdown. Either way, it looks like we’ll get details this weekend.
Well, didn’t think it would happen ever again but here it is: I’m damn excited waiting for a new Tool album
Does anyone think there's a possibility, given the album dates being posted on social media, that we might see remasters announced at the same time as the new album details as part of a giant merch push? I think it's highly unlikely but my fingers are definitely crossed given all the positive back and forth we had with Adam last year on here.
You never know, but I would expect them to maximize the exposure of the new material with some physical/digital releases and bundles first. Then maybe follow up before the holidays with the remasters, box-sets, etc. I'm actually wondering if they won't delay streaming of the back catalog until the new album has had a chance to breathe. This way they could maximize the streaming numbers in the first few weeks.
after how long it's been and hearing the two tracks so far that have been played live....i have lost A LOT of excitement. if this album isn't at least 2 or 3 cd's long, i'll be automatically disappointed too....for as long as we've waited and after hearing how long some of these songs are, 1 disc will have like 6 songs on it, that would be super sad....
Hey all, shameless plug, we just recorded a special Tool-centric episode of our podcast, you can check it out here: Episode 004 - Talking Tool
What’s the name of the podcast and is it available through the Apple podcast app? I’d like to give it a listen but I’m not downloading another podcast app.
The Podbean link can be played through their website as well, but we're also on Apple podcasts. It's called Vinylism, thanks for checking it out!: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/vinylism/id1441326258Vinylism on Apple Podcasts
