We are all familiar with Mr. Tarantino’s ability to compile some excellent soundtracks to his movies, as most recently observed for his film depicting late-1960s Los Angeles in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. I can’t help but wonder how Mr. Tarantino would approach a soundtrack depicting the other side of The Atlantic the same time. Any help making a soundtrack to this hypothetical Tarantino movie would be appreciated.

Okay... I'll try. All hypothetical, of course, and more of a mood collection ;)

The Kinks - You Really Got Me
The Searchers - Sugar & Spice
    Cream - Strange Brew
    Chuck Berry - Little Marie
The Dave Clark Five - Glad All Over
    Them - Mystic Eyes
    The Hollies - Sorry Suzanne
    The Who - La-La-La-Lies
Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band - Death Cab For Cutie
The Beatles - Twist & Shout
    Pink Floyd - Lucifer Sam
Dusty Springfield - I Don't Want To Hear It Anymore
The Animals - When I Was Young
Muddy Waters - Mannish Boy (1955 recording)
The Rolling Stones - Play With Fire
The Walker Brothers - The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine (Anymore)

I imagine this as a kind of Quentin's back-to-the-roots flick, in the style of Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, but of course set in 1960s London. I'd love to see him do that.

I think that 'Waterloo Sunset' is a lovely vignette about life in 'Swinging London', especially with the mention of two big actors from the era, and I also think that 'Dedicated Follower Of Fashion' links in nicely with the booming fashion scene in London at the time in Carnaby Street and with new brands like Biba and Mary Quant and the big models of the day such as Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton.

Yeah. In retrospect, this might be the single most succinct song in terms of how it paints a certain time in history.

  11. Based on Tarantino’s latest soundtrack, I surmise he blends a Combo of major hits by major artists,
One hit wonders”, deep cuts from known artists and cults favs. All have to specifically or generally pertain to the era/topic.

With that in mind: This great Donovan song, based on Singing London

NumberEight Came too late and stayed too long

If the premise is late 1960s, half of the tracks you list make no sense.

(Much as I love them.) :)

And it certainly does. Ray Davies tells this story :
He first heard ' Sgt Pepper's..' at Van Morrison ' s apartment and wasn't overly impressed. He said he knew he'd already written the best song of the year.
    Gotta love Ray.
