Yes, Sure sounds good. Maybe it would be ideal if folks stated: “If there were s sequel to this movie or an expanded soundtrack of songs not in the movie, but in style with it - I’d put in this song. .......” Easy, just reply to this post and the work is all done! LOL Thanks
Vinyl hasn't been released yet. I know, because I'm waiting for it. FB page of the film tells me "soon."
QT should have chosen something from Lonnie Smith's Move Your Hand album, which was recorded on August 9, 1969.
Yeah, I don't care about colored vinyl, or toys, I just want a record that's been cut properly, so it sounds great. Thanks.
Hoping for a Grundman, or Bellman. Fingers crossed. I was 10-11 in 1969, and still have all my 45s from then. Also waiting patiently for the eventual Blu ray.
This is all I could find on “the internets” - needless to say, I’ll wait. ( See price at end) LOL. More Images Various – Once Upon A Time In... Thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing it for myself in a couple of weeks, we folk in Scotland have to wait a little bit longer than everyone else
when i saw the vanilla fudge supreme's cover was on this I knew it would be used for something epic in the movie. Since in my opinion its the best song on the soundtrack. there was also a rolling stones song about time in the movie but not on the soundtrack. but it wasnt time is on my side. It was another song.
See a few posts back, it was “Out Of Time”, the demo version that Jagger cut with session musicians for Chris Farlowe, which ultimately was released on Metamorphosis.
Appropriate? Probably. I saw it Saturday night in a big suburban multi-plex and there were a few teens with parents in the audience. It looked to be 2/3 folks in their 50s and 60s, with some younger - perhaps skewing older because it was a 70mm widescreen showing. Enjoyable for a 15 year old ? It's a treat to see real MOVIE STARS onscreen giving great performances. I am not usually a Leonardo DiCaprio fan, but he was fantastic. And Brad Pitt was incredible - not a wasted gesture. Margot Robbie, also fabulous. Fab soundtrack with great use of music. Downside: It's 2.5 hours long. A great film for pop culture freaks familiar with LA in the '60s, old Hollywood films, actors and classic TV. It's a love letter to all that. Most 15-year olds don't have that background and will likely "see" an entirely different movie than I did. That's not to say he won't like it - it's a fairy tale with great stars - what's not to love? But he might have a totally different reaction to a song that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up from the first notes. I had 20-somethings sitting next to me - they didn't respond to the same things that got a big reaction from the majority of the audience. What worries you?
MYSTERY: NOT included in the Soundtrack is “Green Door”, sung by Leonardo’s character, Rick Dalton. I knew I had heard the song before, but couldn’t pin it down. Forgot about it. Today it popped back in my mind - Clue. I had a Crystal Gayle album, which I checked out and yes, it was that song. That was a cover song, recorded in the 70’s. Several artists did this prior to the time period of the movie. This One was a hit and probably the reference point for the movie. Add it to the soundtrack, if you Like. Jim Lowe
This song would fit on the Soundtrack as an alternative choice or on an extended Soundtrack of songs NOT in the movie. When I look up to the sky I see your eyes a funny kind of yellow I rush home to bed, I soak my head I see your face underneath my pillow I wake next morning, tired, still yawning See your face come peeping through my window Pictures of matchstick men and you Mirages of matchstick men and you All I ever see is them and you Windows echo your reflection When I look in their direction gone When will this haunting stop? Your face it just won't leave me alone Pictures of matchstick men and you Mirages of matchstick men and you All I ever see is them and you You in the sky, you with this guy You make men cry, you lie You in the sky, you with this guy You make men cry, you lie Pictures of matchstick men Pictures of matchstick men Pictures of matchstick men Pictures of matchstick men
Thanks, Great - what I Can’t remember is where in the movie he sang it - and what the particular scene is about? That info would also help place it in proper order in the Soundtrack.
