I’m curious if there’s going to be an additional announcement on Joe Rogan. Hopefully info for the first single and/or physical release details.

I'm really hoping that Joe Rogan's new podcast with Maynard drops today right in time for my punishing commute home from work, lol.

No mention of the album or streaming news on toolband.com yet. Of course it took them 12 years to update it with any mention of 10,000 Days.

If the rumor about the packaging having an LED screen I can't wait to see how amazon.com packages them for shipping. I may end up driving over an hour to the closest music store that we still have left for this one.

    Please be good ...

    Please be good ...

I'm so pumped but wasn't thrilled with most of 10,000 days so I'm ready to be blown away or massively disappointed. Not many bands left to get this excited about from my youth. Radiohead is only other one I can think of off top of head.

I’m a little bit in this so far, very interesting and very recommendable watch:

Looking forward to this record coming out in a big way... I'm still a huge fan of Lateralus and enjoyed all the older records during my teen years. It took me a long time to come around on 10,000 Days (particularly the esoteric back half, with so many prickly, out-there moments) but now I can say it ranks highly with the others — hoping that gets a vinyl release soon, once the new album is in our hands!

I recently listened to the 2017 Rogan interview with Maynard.
Also very entertaining. These interviews are some of the rare glimpses of the real MJK.

I watched that one yesterday as well before the new one went up, and it possibly went even deeper than last night's installment. Good stuff. :righton:

Is it safe to start talking first-spin plans for the new album?
    Settings? Medium? Preparations?

I, for one, would love to have the first listen on vinyl, but I know there's a good possibility that a vinyl edition may not be available upon release. I will definitely buy a couple of copies on CD, but I'll probably go with a download for the first listen if vinyl isn't an option.

Living room after sundown. Phone on do-not-disturb. Kids sleeping over at grandparents' house. Nice bourbon with couple of craft beer-backs.

And my wife, of course! Lucky for me, she's as big a fan as I am.

i might have to take the day off from work to listen to it when it's finally released!
very excited, but at the same time, i feel like i'm going to be highly disappointed in it.
If it's not a double or triple album, then i already will be disappointed quite a lot
With how long this has taken, we should definitely be getting far more than just 1 single disc worth of music.

Me I always prefer a really good short album than a watered-down double.

so you only want a new tool album with 3 or 4 songs on it?
are you aware of how long their songs can get to be?

for as long as we've been waiting, a double album should be a for sure thing.
and watered down? if you think albums are watered down, its probably due to you must
not have the attention span to listen to a nice long album and enjoy your music very well.
everything must be short and quick for ya then? smh :shake::rolleyes::doh::unhunh:

That is not the context I get from @MechanicalAnimal6 and I also hope this is a quality release.

He is basically making a statement of quality over quantity. No need to twist/troll that into judging an individuals attention span or or enjoyment of music.

But I ramble, you might be a bigger Tool fan.

I'd prefer my first listen to be on vinyl as well, but rumor is the pressing is coming later in the year (a discbox version with 2xLP/CD similar to what Radiohead did with In Rainbows would be great for this).

I'll grab the CD for sure, nice that we have a long weekend when it drops. Will definitely put it on at night and listen to it in its entirety the first time through.
