    Big fan.

Fave song: Left Behind or Before I Forget
    Fave album: Iowa

I've got a lot of time for Corey Taylor. Fantastic lyricist and singer.

Saw them with Slayer around 15 years ago and they were incredible.

I liked some of the stuff from their first album. Mostly I cannot stand them, though. However, they have their place.

Don’t know if anyone remembers in 2002 when death metal band Hypocrisy released Catch-22 and changed to a Slipknot inspired sound and lyrics (lots of F-bombs) and name dropped the hell of Slipknot in interviews. Hugely controversial. Band leader Peter Tangren was also an underground metal superstar producer (seemed every Euro death and black metal band recorded there). 2008 they remixed the album with less nu-drums & guitars.

  5. Interesting to see the replies in this thread. I'm surprised by all the Iowa love. I have been following them ever since they devastated their first Ozzfest and I've liked (some more than others) everything they've done. Corey is an amazing vocalist and Joey was (is) such a fun drummer to listen to.

    What's your favorite album?

Volume 3 (The Subliminal Verses). I feel like Iowa was rushed and aggressive for aggressive-ness sake. They had to follow up their self titled as quickly as they could to maintain momentum. Vol. 3 is where they took a breath and saw what they could really become. There is more melody (and guitar solos!). I see it as a great transition between pure aggression (their early stuff) and formulaic aggressive melodic nu-metal (their later stuff).

    What's your favorite song?

Three Nil and Before I Forget

    What's your favorite masks?

I like the original masks the best.

When I was in high school I was a huge fan. The first album came out when i was 15 I believe. Got to see them live a few times and they were crazy shows. The first album was my favorite and can remember the name of my favorite song. Didn’t really think about the mask too much to be honest but I guess I liked the old clown mask best. My favorite show was at the old universal amphitheater. I think they Road tested some songs from the third album before it came out. Last time I saw them was the Smoke Out Fest with Deftones and Cypress Hill. We were a little too gone by the time Slipknot came on though haha. I kind of lost interest when I got into the more complex weird stuff like Meshuggah and Dillinger Escape Plan. These days though I don’t do any heavy stuff.

Slipknot are, from what I know of them, a good band. I own two CDs of theirs at this time. These are All Hope Is Gone and Volume 3 (The Subliminal Verses). I generally enjoy the other stuff I’ve heard from their discography. I completely agree that Corey Taylor is a great singer. My favourite song of theirs is probably still “Before I Forget”.

Been listening to the first 2 Soulfly albums lately. Forgot about all the guest vocalists. Jumpda****up with Corey Taylor is a pretty dope rap metal track.

Their new video for Solway Firth is a tie in with the new Amazon series The Boys.

My guess is one version will have an extra track, All Out Life, the non album single from last year.

Ok, so after doing some research on the upc's, the one that's a buck more on amazon, is actually a "clean" version, with the same track listing. Looks like the All Out Life single will be on the Japanese cd as a bonus track.

I ordered the $27 “clean” version because the price dropped down to $15 and the $23 version never dropped. I wonder what “clean” means.

I think it means they either bleep or blank out the profanity.

I'm heading to Target tomorrow to pick up my copy, they have it for $13.99.
