When the White Album deluxe was announced, I had made the decision to ask for it for Christmas, so I was not able to jump on the cheapest deals. Now, I get to have fun watching prices go down.

Can you get the hardback book that comes with the 4 disc set separately?

As I am interested in the 3 LP set and the book would go nicely with it.

Not quite the £16 I paid for the Genesis 70 to 75 box but not bad.....

 

Yeah I threw in a pre-order as well just for kicks and giggles. If the price holds firm should be about $37 USD

 

The book is only in the Super Deluxe CD set. I wish they would have made a very limited production run actual "Super Deluxe" set that included EVERYTHING they're making, but I get why they don't.

 

Whoever runs Amazon Canada should probably be fired, this isn't the first time!

 

I had 8 Tracks for TWA, ABBEY ROAD and PEPPER. If I remember correctly, there was a weird edit on the Pepper reprise where the last chorus was repeated an extra time compared to the album. Anyone else remember that?

 

Btw... the strings only version of Something is absolutely gorgeous!!

 

But you must admit, George's lead guitar lines on it are genius

 

As soon as the crazy price is posted here, it is doomed to be honoured because so many people order it and amazon will notice.

Lol yep, pretty much. I honestly don't know why people ever post obvious pricing errors, they're pretty much dooming any chance they have of actually getting it. In a round about way you're basically letting the company know about the error when you post it on a message board as all the extra traffic that will generate becomes an obvious red flag.

Some analyst in the Amazon office has an alarm going off telling him of a 1,000% spike in Amazon.ca Abbey Road 50th Anniversary Edition orders right now lol.

 

If you get your order in before the sirens go off, sometimes you win.

 

It will probably be 7.2.4 like the Dolby Atmos mix of INXS' Kick you can get on Blu-ray in the 30th anniversary package that Giles Martin tastefully mixed.

Have you tried a good Atmos mix at home? I have 5.2.4 as I don't have room for rear surrounds given my listening position is relatively close to the back wall, the jump from 5.2 > 5.2.4 was pretty big and I love it. I'm using Pioneer modules but look forward some day to doing proper ceiling installation.

That 8-track was the first recording I ever owned, dad brought it home from work one night about 40 years ago. Still my favorite album of all time.

 

Yep, I came here and spent the last 19 mins backreading to see if anyone had, keeping my fingers crossed it was still known to be "not available".

Oh well...
