Like many other acts a search of Bruce Springsteen on Amazon UK brings up the good the bad and the ugly. Jolly confusing for folk who are not really knowledgeable about an artists legitimate releases. I have the set listed of the 78 stuff and it used to be a lot cheaper. I have all the boots/tapes of the relevant shows. I have never played the grey area set but would guess it is copied from either a few bootlegs or an online sources. (I bought the grey area set for £10 new). I buy the official downloads of all the pre 1993 releases. If the series and I keep going I would imagine all those 78 radio shows will eventually be on nugs net or whatever it is called.
i dont know what it is just that "its a major disappointment." exact quote. we still have 24 hrs for the troops to rally.
Bruce could come round to their house, download the show for free on their computer and then do an acoustic performance of the show and some folks here would still label it a disappointment.
off-topic, but he was in AP last night at the film premiere. https://www.app.com/story/entertainment/people/2019/08/07/bruce-springsteen-blinded-light-asbury-park-premiere/1950113001/'No one told me that was going to happen!': Bruce Springsteen attends 'Blinded by the Light' Asbury Park premiere He seemed remarkably calm given that his monthly archive release is late.
the 'HUUGE" insiders have been strangely quiet as of late. For the record, Im the insider with Agora 1974.
It’s all sourced from the radio broadcasts. I bought the set for much less a couple of years ago. It all sounds great, and the packaging is nice (Repurposed Dave Marsh bloviations aside) but it’s the same sources most of us have heard for ages. Mastering issues aside (Not too big a bother to me), it was nice to have Roxy ‘78 released without all the radio patter and that near-constant clicking in the background. Now I’d just love for all those other shows to get proper release.
My 5 guesses *The Shea show with Bob Dylan *Anything with a guest star that would have to OK it. *The St. Luke's Taping with Seeger Sessions (complete with any errors/mistakes) *Something that had broadcast aftet which future issues would have to be approved. *Bonnaroo 2009.
I have no idea what the issue was, but if it turns out that someone guests on the recording, or if there is a song that was not penned by Bruce (more likely), it is possible that they needed to work out payment. Just a guess. The good news is that it seems to have been resolved, whatever the issue, and we'll get the release finally. Let's hope it's a good one.
could be a guest or a FM thing that may require release as well. true. at what time is it due to be on Estreet radio so i can tune in then.
