Despite having traveled this road with you before in connection with the White Album and reached a dead end, I'll mention that the average DR for Pepper's is 08, not 06. You've chosen to mention the only song on Pepper's that is DR6. (For the record, I find certain parts of Pepper's to be too loud.)

As for using DR as shorthand, I agree that it has its place, but I also think that it's abused by some, whose grasp of the technical aspects of it seems questionable and who use it as a way to "prove" that a record is mixed or mastered badly when it may only be a matter of it being mixed or mastered differently. Those who like to bandy about DR numbers may want to consider the following, from the DROffline MkII User Manual:

"Due to the natural obstacles of dynamics measurement in general, DR values are more precise for smaller values, where there is little contrast between loud and soft, and may deviate more the larger or higher the DR value."

"Before digging into more meaningful systems to describe music–oriented dynamic variations, we’d like to point out a major problem which is inherent in measurement and subjective perception. Within the audio technology community, you’ll find a lot of research about dynamic range and associated topics, and many studies are unfortunately based on erroneous assumptions. Recent research of the PMF (Pleasurize Music Foundation) led by our own Mr. MAAT, Friedemann Tischmeyer, revealed the inability of a listener to statistically and repeatedly evaluate subjective dynamics and the vitality of the transient structure. Even a group of skilled professional listeners, who most people would think of as 'golden ears', proved this inability of the human ear/brain mechanism to properly evaluate dynamic quality and transient vitality..."

Ah, after looking at the list above and doing brief research, I see that the take of "Oh, Darling!" that I referenced before, the one on Anthology 3 that features a delighted John, is actually from the Get Back/Let It Be sessions.

DR numbers aside, we are in the midst of loudness wars. The topic is well documented. It is easily perceived on loudspeakers, but even with headphones you will sense ear fatigue from everything being loud.

Well, it looks like Let It Be for 2020. So Revolver won't be happening until 2021 at the earliest, if Apple starts working backwards.

It's in the center, and the organ part spreads across the stereo soundstage and swamps it a bit.

The Rockband remix of Rubber Soul is (mostly) pretty great, especially George's multi-tracked rockabilly guitars on "Run For You Life." It's a bit dynamically compressed though.

Yeah, though I do like the mono mix, except for those dynamically squashed cymbals. "Got To Get You Into My Life" is so much better edited than the stereo version.

That was my beef as well. It's also what I really don't like about the Giles remix of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"--he sticks Macca's bass in one ear and it sounds utterly wrong to my ears, which is why I "replaced" the first 3 songs of the 2017 Pepper remix with the Yellow Sub Songtrack mixes--making for a much nicer listening experience.

I made some artwork for the digital collection. Frame based on the Sgt. Pepper 50 set.

This is actually from the Get Back sessions, so we might get this or some other take in the Let It Be box set next year.

Think the book will give us a bit of a background, what happened after the White Album and before the Abbey Road sessions began.

Nice! But, as an exception, I would put the Anthology mix of 'The End' to the end of Disc 3.

Or making two box sets per year then, like Paul's Archive series.
