    Hello everyone,
Some people have criticized Denis Leary's acting and comedy, yes, he is very cynical and careless in his speech in my opinion, but what do you think about his acting in films in general? I think he does a great job personally, though I cannot "get" his skits whatsoever. They're too much, too exaggerated in my opinion. I do like that he has a firefighter's association of some type, I don't fully understand what it is all about, but I understand one of his relatives was killed in a fire in some building in California. Sorry for my lack of info on that. But anyhow, what's your opinion on his acting, and if you like his acting, what films do you like of him?
    Thank you,
    Ryan

He’s pretty bad for the most part.

I love that movie! I like when he says something like "Well, I just beat up Santa Claus. Guess I'll be on the naughty list this year" if I can recall correctly.

He can be bad sometimes, other times good. I don't throw the baby out with the bath water, though.

Leary is fantastic in Rescue Me. Haven't seen much else with him.

He's just bad. Because he isn't an actor. He's always just being Denis Leary. I thought he was fine in The Ref. But after that... I'd seen pretty much his full range.

Agreed. His stint in "Animal Kingdom" bordered on embarrassing. He was absolutely terrible in that. Purely going through the motions; I guess he needed a paycheck.

That’s voice work. That’s not acting.

The only role I remember was in The Suicide Kings. He was ok for that limited role.

This is the one I thought of. He was very good in this part. But that was more matching him with a good role than it was really good acting.

  21. He’s gotten better with time. His early roles were more variations on his schtick.

Incorrect. Voice over work is a very difficult job and requires just as much acting chops as any film actor is required of.
