It definitely goes full JRPG in places! I don't think it's intended to be as serious as all the villains make it seem.

Though I have never seen Petulia, star George C Scott told Richard Lester that one day, he hoped he'd actually get to work with him on the same movie.
Supposedly none of the actors knew what was going on most of the time.

2001. Unless you are somebody making YouTube videos explaining the ending.

Dave Lynch, several of his things are... well the plot is perhaps not the most integral part of the experience.

I remember one night on TV when Jay Leno had Lynch on as a guest, right after Mullholland Dr was out.. and Leno has this exasperated look on his face and he says, "now Dave... what is this movie about?" and Lynch starts to ramble that a movie doesnt have to "be about anything". Leno is somewhat annoyed... I just found it amusing.

I'm offering up the third installment of Pirates of the Carribean, the end of the world or the edge of the world or something like that - the one with Keith Richards briefly in it. That thing was long and.. I dont know, the flow of it possibly destroyed by editing or something.

  9. It also apparently served as the inspiration for Monty Python's "French Subtitled Film" sketch.

Well, Season 2 of Caprica was a real head scratcher. IIRC there wasn't a huge outcry when the series was canceled after that.

I recently finished the second season. After a long break after the first season, I had no idea what the hell was going on. Still really enjoyed it though.

Definitely. I needed to watch this several times to realise what was going on. His follow up, Upstream Colour, wasn’t exactly straightforward either.

Fortunately I had read the book, had to pause the dvd to keep the wife current on what was happening.

Don't worry, I've seen it 3 times and am still baffled about some parts but not those belonging to Paz.

Same here, I think it matters on how well the film gets wrapped up, when it all makes sense.

I'll try and track this movie down to watch again, I saw it at maybe the Spanish or French Film festival, sometime round 2004? Honestly I kind of got lost about half way through if I remember, it stayed in the back of my mind though. Some of the best films I ever saw were at those festivals.
