You're not breaking any news that if you have the patience you can find something in a store that takes in used items cheaper than buying it brand new from a big box retailer.

 

As an Italian and a Prime member, I try to use Amazon Italy first.

Anyway, sometimes foreign Amazons are cheaper and in that case I go for them.. the only problem is that Amazon UK sometimes ships the package via Royal Mail (which is untrackable) after charging 5€ (a price which should guarantee a trackable courier shipping, instead).

This happens from time to time and it’s very annoying.

 

Agreed. Wait a couple of years and you’ll find AR50 at fifty bucks.

Question is: who wants to wait for two years?

 

Hope they'll release the Blu-ray alone someday...

I emailed What Records this morning, asking if they ship to the USA (they do), and if they accept Paypal (also a yes). I registered and started to preorder the 3LP set. 55 Euros, or something like that. What stopped me was "standard shipping:" 32 Euros! Yikes!

 

Wasn't the big box $84-ish on Amazon recently?

Amazon will honor the lowest price when it ships. When you order you are locking in the highest price you will pay. My pre-orders generally come in cheaper than my "set" price.

 

And boy, that $.03 is sweeeeet. And always an e mail to remind you just how Special they are for doing it.

I wonder why, when sellers discount the AR sets, the CDs are around 30% off (list price), while the LPs are more like only 10% off. A guess would be there's less profit margin in vinyl...
