On Friday Amazon updates my order that it’s expected to arrive Aug16 so I bought it in store. Amazon wouldn’t me cancel the order and now it’s arriving today lol.
I have the red vinyl and it is perfectly flat and very, very quiet. No complaints about the pressing here whatsoever. Sounds very good as well although I have not compared it to any other medium.
The vinyl has a respectable DR rating of 10 according to the DR Database - all other versions are a 6.
so far, i'm not very impressed with this new album at all...some tracks even make me pissed at how lame they are.... maybe this album will be a "grower"....we shall see.

My copy was one of those 'Burned on Demand' discs that Amazon will sometimes do. I pre ordered the album from the following link: https://www.amazon.com/We-Are-Not-Your-Kind/dp/B07RWSH4BP Now, I see there is another link for the CD. Ships in 1 to 2 months....could this be the 'real' factory disc? https://www.amazon.com/We-Are-Not-Y...L/ref=tmm_acd_title_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= If you look at the first link, it says Note: This product is manufactured on demand when ordered from Amazon.com. This not was not there when I placed my pre-order. This same thing happened to me with the new Sammy Hagar album. I was too lazy to go to the UPS store and get a refund, but this time I will. I'm tired of Amazon pulling this crap and I'm wary of ordering any new releases from them ever again.
I ordered from the Amazon app a few weeks ago, so I pulled up my order. It is the exact same listing as this (https://www.amazon.com/We-Are-Not-Y...ords=slipknot&qid=1565791870&s=gateway&sr=8-2) but it does not seem to have the note about manufactured on demand that is there when I look from my desktop. Odd. Maybe they ran out of their initial stock through all the pre-orders and added that note later? Maybe mine was manufactured on demand, but it is a regular silver back CD and I don't recall seeing any obvious evidence that it was a CD-R (though I don't have it in front of me at the moment to verify).
don't know about the slipknot page, but it seems some people are seeing the cd-r note on product pages and some are not. Amazon “On Demand” CDRs? Amazon “On Demand” CDRs?
Does anyone know why Slipknot named the last song on the new album "Solway Firth"? The Solway Firth is an area of water between Scotland and England.
Well, I guess we can scratch that "universal acclaim" from the wikipedia entry. Seriously though, thanks for linking. Good read, even if I'm not sure I agree with much of it. I hear a band rejuvenated and more interesting than they've been in a bit.
Thanks for the compliments. I knew people were really digging it, and that’s great for them. Hopefully it will sound better as I live with it.
The new album is definitely a grower as far as I am concerned. First time I listened I thought it was OK but it did not warrant all the priase it was getting. Half a dozen listens later and I am really starting to warm to it. My favourite is still Volume 3 and I can’t see that changing but who knows? Speaking of Volume 3 I recently picked up a picture disk of it more for novelty value than anything. Decided to give it a spin last night and was amazed at how good it sounds. Very quiet compared to other picture disks I have and very dynamic, detailed sound. Far better than my original CD. Highly recommended.
First time since September 2013 a metal band has topped the charts here in the UK. Avenged Sevenfold was the last. Big achievement.
Listening to the US Roadrunner pressing of the album. The music is great. The packaging is very average. Nothing special, nothing extra. The LPs are flat, black, ~140 gram. They sound pretty good so far. I have never, not once gotten a good pressing from Roadrunner. What I mean by a good pressing is one where they obviously tried to do the vinyl justice rather than just slapping the digital audio onto vinyl and selling it in bulk. Still sounds better and less compressed than the digital version though! Like all Roadrunner pressings, it's half-assed.
