and I have time off in February. I'd call this a long shot right now, but kinda maybe sorta going to try to buy a pair of tickets for the NY show. Can always resell if the trip does not come together.

Oh my this is crazy good news!!! I have to buy a ticket and probably go solo. I remember I took my girlfriend (now wife) to a “California” tour show at the House of Blues and she was not very happy with me at all.

The idea that they are focused on the demo as the 'glue' for these shows, instead of their more well known material bodes well as to the focus and intension behind this. Also worth noting that these are 3 club sized gigs and not a series of festival paydays. Really gives me the perception that this will be very very good.

I imagine tickets are gonna be gone very quickly. Hoping to get lucky and can get some before it sells out and expensive resell tickets are the only option.

AMEX presale starts on Wednesday, so who knows, this may already be sold out more or less by the time tickets go on sale Friday morning.

So jealous you got to see them. Especially on that tour.

My wife is very fond of most of California and Mike's Mondo Cane project but man does she detest Bungle's first album haha I won't even try with Disco.

Twodawgzz But why do you ask such questions...

Way ahead of their time, IMO. What they were able to accomplish without the benefit of later advances in digital recording technology is astounding.

So I tried with the Amex presale offer and it was a no go. I was in the queue and everything. This doesn’t bode well. I just need one ticket!

Funny thing, I’m in London on vacation at the moment and my wife was slightly irritated that I was on my phone trying to buy tickets while at Kensington Palace. 20 years later and mr bungle still annoys my wife! ;)

Presale tomorrow for LA and SF at 10am west coast time. Two ticket limit. Presale code is SHADE

Lets see how that goes. Stub hub already has tickets going for 160-500 a piece already from the AMEX presale.

Honestly I've already accepted I won't be able to get tickets. Tis the world we live in now.

The California era live shows were phenomenal. I can't go anyway (wrong country) but I hope they're not just playing the debut EP and early stuff only. And, I might be being naive, but what has Scott 'Not' Ian got to do with Mr Bungle? Is he just a fan? Either way I'm interested to see how this pans out.

I wondered that too. In the Revolver link in the original post Mike is quoted as saying that Slayer and SOD were two of their biggest influences and that Bungle covered both bands at their first show.

That's odd. I understand the connection to SOD with Scott Ian and the attitude and humour of SOD makes sense but I don't hear any Slayer in Bungle, Anthrax yes but Slayer not so much. Either way I'm happy to see them do something and having Ian involved can't be a bad thing imo.

Off or of? The debut album is of it's time, California is off it's time and every other time since. I'm surprised California hasn't been re-evaluated as a masterpiece yet, musically it's post-everything, but maybe it's time is still to come.

I just sort of figured Lombardo was there in part because of the Fantômas connection.

Just chiming in to say this is so awesome. I won't get to the shows, not getting hopes up for more but it's just so cool to see Bungle in the news. Cool as in it made my day and gave me a huge buzz.
