Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) fronted by Jeff Lynne to Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) Part Two fronted by Bev Bevan after JL declined to participate.

  3. They were making Other Voices when Jim died and had hoped he would come back and provide vocals.

  4. Not Black and Blue or Emotional Rescue, but Some Girls and Tattoo You slay the last 2 Taylor albums IMO. Edit: actually MT is still featured a bit on Tattoo You.

I agree, although I like Vinyl Confessions. After Steve returned, it would only be a few years before he lost his voice. I remember buying "Live at the Whiskey" and thinking, this will be GREAT, all the old tunes with Steve back at the front of the band!!! Nope, I could barely listen to it all the way through the first time because his voice was so strained. The years after that weren't kind to him, either. I think Ronnie Platt has breathed some new life into them, his voice is so young and strong and their last album was their best since Audio Visions. The shame of it all is that Steve was once one of the PREMIER voices in rock.

No need to "imagine" - just watch for yourself -

Open question for anyone to answer - "What's going on at the 3:40 mark with the long scarf dangling from the back of his head?"

True, but hoping he'd come back is one thing -- Morrison's intent is another, and that's a gray area. I have a hard time believing, had he come back, that he'd have provided vocals for an album written and largely recorded without him.

I’d agree with this. That it took 3-4 years to recover from Syd’s absence says a lot about him. That they rebounded and made some of the most beloved records of all time says a lot about the others.

I’ll stick up for IORR besides Luxury. If You Can’t Rock Me, Time Waits For No One, Dance Little Sister, Fingerprint File, all stone cold classics in my book.

I saw SW's band every tour from Raven onwards and as much as I love Guthrie, Dave and Alex are complete monster guitarists who do great! Loved the Raven lineup but HCE and TTB's tours carried more emotional weight to me in terms of presentation and band synergy overall

Ha, wasn't expecting this. Saw them when Peter was still in the band. Awesome show; great musicianship, like Third Day. Hard for me to think of them the same way with Michael Tate singing lead. :(

David Gilmour once commented on how important Richard's keyboard playing was to the Pink Floyd sound. I (and most of us) could say the very same thing about Dave's playing... and vocals.

As for Waters, by the 80s I grew tired of his whining and complaining and wanting to sue everyone. If he believed in God, he may have tried to sue Him also!

"And you serve me and I'll serve you
Swing your partners, all get screwed
Bring your lawyer and I'll bring mine
Get together and we could have a bad time

    It's affidavit swearing time
Sign it on the dotted line
Hold your bible in your hand
Now all that's left is to find yourself a new band

We're going to play the sue me, sue you blues
    Sue me, sue you blues"
