Would you recommend the 3CD set of the remixed White Album? I was reading reports that it wasn't as clear as Sgt Peppers, and quite loud, is this true?

Pulled the trigger as Amazon had it for $15, not bad for a 3CD set. Can't wait to hear it, thanks for your feedback.

On the contrary, the mastering is better than Pepper 50, more dynamic range.

    Get out of the center!
I completely extracted the album and listen to it like this
over and over again. Five times the white album
    and every time something's different.

John is the one they should be annoyed with here. He is the one who forced his girlfriend's presence on the band in the studio and in their photos. She's there because HE wanted her there. But of course it's much easier to blame the "pushy manipulative" woman than blame the real manipulative one: your hero who can do no wrong, no matter how passive-aggressive or aggressive-aggressive he behaves toward his bandmates.

The Beatles look so bored or mad in those final photos that it makes me sad. I'm reminded of pictures I have of my parents shortly before they separated and divorced. You could see it in their eyes...

HAHA would be awesome if that was the same lady, now months later won over by the Beatles music. Maybe she's asking Ringo, "So when does the 'Got a Feeling' song come out?"

‘George Harrison was miserable from frame one to frame 500,’ says Ethan Russell. ‘He was so over it. I don’t think he did anything but scowl for three hours.’ The photographer is recalling the day he unknowingly took the last ever shot of the Beatles together. It was 22 August 1969, and they were all at John Lennon’s countryside estate near Ascot.
‘Paul was trying to hold it together,’ he adds. ‘He had his arms crossed like, “Come on, lads!” But the concept of the Beatles just didn’t sync with who they were any more. I could have asked them to smile, but it would have been totally fake and I’m glad I didn’t. This marriage had come to an end – and boy does it show.’- The Guardian, 10 Feb 2019

Why do people who spend 3 hours with the Beatles think they are in a position to analyze anything but those 3 hours? I think he's doing the same 50-years-after-the-fact analysis that fans do reading into pictures based on what we now know. And the problem with that is that reporters and photographers said pretty much the same thing about George and Paul back in 1964 -- I've seen the quotes from 1964 saying that George did a lot of scowling during photo shoots and Paul did a lot of "come on lads."

If I was dating John in 1969 and he asked me to come to the studio to watch the Beatles work, I wouldn't have the modesty or sense to refuse either.

I wonder if Ringo or Paul remember what she was saying? Maybe making a comment about their long hair?
