Yeah I think several songs are in the top tier, if not the actual bests evers....everything is really really hot, and I think that Jack Straw is definitely a contender....they are really playing the hell out of everything. I'm kind of surprised I never knew of this one...

Jerry is really into it. Listen to how he sings "Bo-wo-oat" in "Ship of Fools".

if you google “Grateful Dead movie gif” then open images he’ll be there fairly near the top. And you can save the gif from there without reddit.

    Wonder who that dude is...

Well, I've gone and done it. I ordered the July 78 box in anticipation of a) liking it, b) the remaining ~500 copies selling out, and c) the price going up up up as soon as that happens.

Based on last year's credit card statements, you're right.

1978-06-04 is there some kind of story behind this show? Were they all getting drunk or something? Anyway, maybe the best Around and Around ever...it seems like it's about 30 minutes long. The numbers say 8:54 though, I don't know it seemed a lot longer than usual. The second set is really hot but there is no big jam, except Estimated I guess, everything else is just kind of a rave-up...even Ship of Fools kind of...

I haven’t made it all the way through yet but it sounds like they’re on whatever combination of rocket fuels they were still on in July 78. This sounds like the unhinged version of the band that showed up at Red Rocks a month later, only even more so. Like they’re jumping out of their skins. Almost angry sounding, but intriguing.
