Not much is known about the upcoming season just yet, but it is set to premiere in the Fall of 2019. Returning are Aidy Bryant, Leslie Jones, Cecily Strong, and Kenan Thompson.

That can't be it. If they got rid of Heidi Gardner I'm boycotting. Mikey Day? Alex Moffat?

"The Spy Who Dumped Me 2" is shooting this fall in Bucharest. :(

  9. Just to get it out of the way (with apologies to @Marry a Carrot):

    The show hasn't been funny since Chevy Chase/John Belushi/Eddie Murphy/Dana Carvey/Phil Hartman/Chris Farley/Norm Macdonald/Will Ferrell/Tina Fey/Kristen Wiig/John Milhiser left, and I can't believe anyone still watches it.

Not such a great idea announcing Murphy this early...expectations will be thru the roof.

They should get Lizzo as a musical guest in one of the open weeks.

Mike Ryan at Uproxx is theorizing on Twitter that they wanted to get the word out in case he thinks about bailing.

Yes, it's a very noticable gap between Nov 2 and Dec 21. I have never seen SNL do that before. They do 4 in a row at a time usually.
Does he have a movie coming out or will his stand up be completed by then? I see Dolemite Is My Name is supposed to be out around then. He should've waited to promote Coming To America 2 or maybe that will be his next guest host role. This has the potential of being one of the highest rated SNL's ever if he goes through with this.

  17. Like they wouldn't be no matter when they announced it.

Also: Eddie Murphy hosting SNL?! :faint:

They’re just announcing his show early... I’m sure there will be others in between.

Yes I meant that they skipped several weeks of shows in terms of host info.

Wow, Eddie Murphy. I mean, the guy is 30 years past his prime, but so what?? This is HUGE.

I hope they bring back Joe Piscopo for a cameo spot. Maybe Julia Louis-Dreyfus could stop by and say "Hey, did you ever think in 1984 that I would end up being the most successful member of this cast?"

Holy ****. I quit watching the show, but I may have to tune in for Eddie. Will he be a good sport and revive Gumby, Raheem Abdul and Tyrone Green? He sure wasn't very funny on that SNL anniversary special. And yeah... I'd love to see them dig up Piscopo for a cameo. Do another Stevie Wonder/Sinatra duet. Fingers crossed.

I haven't actively watched SNL since Phil Hartman left.

But I would certainly tune in for Eddie Murphy. I expect that episode will bring in a lot of lapsed viewers like me.

  25. First fogey moment of the season: I've never heard of Phoebe Waller-Bridge or Camila Cabello.

Also: how the heck did Musical Guest TBA get two appearances in one season? Their last album stunk.
