I wonder if they’d ever entertain a video series.

I don't know how Bruce would feel, but if their recent YouTube uploads are any indication it seems they might be up for it.

Brad Serling from Nugs had this to say in an interview with Pollstar a few years ago:. "What’s difficult is live video. The sync rights required for live video, there is no set rate and you have to negotiate every time. That’s why we have 15-20,000 audio recordings in nugs.net’s archives from 1,000 bands but we’ve got, I’d say, 100 or so videos. The reason is because of the licensing. Our bands play a lot of covers. Even Bruce plays a lot of covers. And cover songs are an issue for video. Not for audio because it’s pretty straightforward. … It’s a lot of work for, frankly, not a lot of return. We’ll do OK selling video after the fact, but we don’t do it a lot.o Hopefully one day [video] will be sorted out but I feel that it’s the Wild West right now and the publishers … are using that to their advantage to secure the best deal they can."

Extremely far sighted when you think about it. Any other manager or artist would have seen this as pointless overkill in the 1980's or '90's.

Including the 99-2000 tours, Toby said to have recorded about 100 shows. I'd say that it's 10 shows for tour, also less if the River figure is correct. I assume that for the 99-00 tours he recorded more shows.

I wonder if September will bring TWO releases or something Really special on 9/6.
Wonder if we'd get 2006 or something on 9/6 and then September 24, 1999 on Monday 9/23 - all y'all know what 9/23 is.

Yes, it's the date when he will now be officially too old to rock, and he should announce that he's retiring from big stupid tours.

Cost me thousands, he has! :)

1980-81 would have required the mobile truck which wasnt cheap.

    Me too

But for most bands is just a waste of money recording every show. Even if they switch up the setlist the songs are played in the same way from night to night so it really is no need to have everything

nowadays recording every show costs almost nothing.
but back then it did. mosts acts have the pro tools etc
attached to their sound system but such was not the
    case back in the 80s.

maybe toby did some multi recording without the truck.

This'll be the first "milestone birthday" since 40 that Bruce won't be on the road!

Though he's never played a concert on his actual milestone birthdays. He's come close but never done it!

His 70th birthday. He'll tour the new E Street Band album THEN we'll be Wondering about him. As he gets to his later 70s will be the time to wonder about his future.

Yeah, I have a feeling Tracks 2 will be in a similar ballpark as Grease 2.

I'll never fail to feel astonished at all the people who think that because they're not interested in something, it shouldn't exist.

"I don't want 'Tracks 2' so it shouldn't come out!" :wtf:
