it's a little sick, but my friends and I always say this when we're told someone has passed away :

"He's dead. And nothing is going to bring him back."

    Sollozzo the Turk, "The Godfather"

And of course these classics :

'The cat's in the bag, and the bag's in the river"

    "Match me, Sidney !"

"Outside your hotel room ? I haven't been on the Bowery in years" (said when the Bowery in NYC was a haven for drunks and bums, and not the chic bars and stores of today)

"I would hate to take a bite out of you. You're a cookie full of arsenic"

All from "The Sweet Smell of Success" ....as you can guess from my name and avatar, a favorite of mine

Maybe if you included, "Off with ya me lad and be lively!" they would get it?

I wouldn't mind trying some mulled wine, or a flaming rum punch for that matter!

"That was your plan? Get her?"

I use a few others from this movie as well.

Oh yeah-one from a different movie:

"There's some lovely filth over here!"

At work, if some jerk would occasionally say, "I didn't come here to make friends" (which is what Frank Burns said in MASH), I would fire back with Radar O'Reilly's retort, "You've come to the right place".

This is probably not an obscure quote, but what the heck.
About a month or so before my retirement, I would use this one from Office Space:
"The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care".

Ironic, though, because he was NOT dead, and he'd outlive Sollozzo. :)

Maybe since I flip it, it makes it a bit obscure...

    Baby's dad from Dirty Dancing...

    "When I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong..."

but then when I follow it with

"I know you weren't the one who got Penny in trouble"

The person looks at me like "WTF? Who the f^ck is Penny?"

Great movie, great soundtrack with the infinitely quotable song Bad Man from Juicy Bananas.

Managing a pop group's no job for a man!

Guess how many suits I got. Guess how many pair o' shoes. Guess how many ties.

Anyone steps up to me, straight off I nut 'em in the face. Then I bring my heel down on that foot...and break the bone

Put ya seatbealt on. That's...one of my rules.

For some reason I use two from the movie "Hollywood Knights" relatively often and they are both interchangeable.

"That'll put a hem in your dress" (referring to a joint) and "It does have a little wang in it, good though" ("spiked" punch).
