Maybe the member of The Fourmyula thought John with Fender Bass VI as he played the lead guitar?
John plays single notes with Fender Jaguar look-a-like six string bass. That could be misunderstood as he plays lead guitar.
And George just plays chords and arpeggio.

The YouTube link is probably time-coded, meaning you'll only get it when your time zone hits Friday.
Of course, using a VPN gets around that.

I'm sure a musician knew the difference between a bass and a guitar.

Are we expecting a new demo leak tomorrow? Something with the piano added is amazing.

Why? George probably used the Fender VI more than the Jazz bass, during 68/69.

That makes sense. George wore those glasses so that Paul didn't notice he was asleep.

The horse was a short lived Wings drummer, following Geoff Britton and Joe English. The horse, named Jack Limey, was fired by Paul after two weeks,
The sunglasses were a disguise. "I can't be seen with this song."

Don't know about 68. But he used Fender Jazz for the bass parts on Golden Slumbers and Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Even though the tone in Maxwell doesn't take the advantage of the deep bass frenquencies the Jazz is capable of and Fender VI would do.
He used Fender VI on Octopus's Garden but more like a guitar rather than bass, playing the top strings. The bass part is Paul of course.

On Maxwell, Paul wanted the bass to sound more like a tuba, so the Jazz Bass is set mostly to the bridge pickup which gets a honky mid-range type of sound.

There's a report on Beatles Monthly, that George played the Fender VI on Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight.

Yes, there's a pic from 17 July 1969 (Octopus's Garden overdubs session) , of Paul on piano and George beside him with the fender VI:

One thing is certain, during 1969 George used both the Fender Jazz and VI, in the studio.

Here's George on a Billy Preston session, May 1969, with the Fender VI:
