Hehe; sorry but there's no 100G's there. If you ever get a chance to hear any pair of the sda series running on good electronics and set up properly you'll be changing your mind about "only Polk speakers"

Wow there are some fantastic looking set ups there! Looks like I have some browsing around to do. Always like to see how the other guy does things

Thank you. Very modest by comparison to some of the other amazing systems here, but I'm very pleased with it.

To be honest I don't have the bulb turned on, but it's erm... interesting! I'll probably end up with some giant speakers next - I can't decide which as yet. :help:

We are all aware that Polk does not make speakers in the double digit prices, but over the years, Polk has come up with some very unique speakers like the SDA's.

Currently, they offer their LSiM, series, which is being discontinued, but are excellent sounding tower speakers.

You don't need to buy some "uber" expensive speakers to get good sound. There are many examples of both new and vintage speakers that will give speakers which have much higher retail prices a run for the money.

I wasn't disparaging Polk at all; in fact, I own the RTi A7s. I was just remarking on the apparent cost of his beautiful system compared to how inexpensive Polks are usually priced.

I will admit to thinking the same thing but then realizing save for the polk outdoor speakers we used for 10+ years at our old apartment's backyard I actually know nothing about Polk. Those speakers could be 100k by themselves for all I know. But I share the concept that on a list of guesses I had as to what speakers they were, Polks were way down the list.

I would LOVE to hear what that room sounds like

The 1.2tls (if you can find them for sale) aren't normally priced inexpensively. In my case it was a 3 state journey and a few G's to get them home 8 years ago. Then the addition of some more mods once they were home boosted the entry price up even more.

I see you're not too far away in NYC. If you're ever up this way (NE Ct.) you're more than welcome to stop in for a listen

A beautiful site to behold.

I heard a pair of the large Polk SDAs in Germany back in 85-86 timeframe. They had been set up by the Polk rep and man were they awesome to hear. Even the smaller SDA models were wonderful.

I may have spoken too soon about Polk not making high-end, premium speakers! :yikes:

Looks like the L800 has dual off axis mids and tweeters? Interesting. Would lead to multiple options for speaker toe in or out. I want to hear them!
