I believe the Auteur was meant to be ZMF's 'neutral' phone. Since I am all about neutrality, I suspect that your comment about 'fun factor' might suggest a departure from truly neutral?

Of course, that is the beauty of this hobby, you can have things your own way when it comes to sonic preferences.

For now I'm sticking with my Sonoma M1 electrostatic system!

 

Did anyone hear the new PS Audio speakers in their debut at the RAMF?

 

Yep not as neutral as Auteur, but very tastefully executed.

I went to both spinning vinyl with Michael Fremer sessions in the PS Audio “room” on Friday and Saturday, both were packed-stood at the back of the room on Friday and got there early enough on Saturday to get a seat near the back. The AN3’s sounded superb, and are real lookers, too-beautiful high gloss wood finish. Hearing Classic Records 45rpm test pressings of Baba O’Reilly and Stairway to Heaven was something I won’t soon forget-goosebump city!
