Nathan Barley was funny, wasn’t Charlie Brooker involved?

    In no particular order:

    Game Of Thrones
    Lost (but, the ending sucked)
    The Big Bang Theory
Supernatural (finally coming to an end this coming season)
    Battlestar Galactica (recent reboot)
How I Met Your Mother (the final season sucked, though.)
    Friday Night Lights
    "24"
    Family Guy
    Boardwalk Empire

Honorable mentions (only because too short, not given proper conclusions and/or the best seasons were in the '90s):

    Rome
Deadwood (finally given a conclusion with the recent HBO 2 hour movie, but a little too late.)
    The Simpsons

I didn't include any shows that crossed over from the '90s into the '00s unless the majority of their seasons were in the '00s. So, that rules out shows like Friends, Frasier and Stargate SG-1.

I seemed to have left off The Walking Dead and Fear: TWD. I didn't like the first season of Fear due to the heroin addict character in it. Once he was (spoiler) it got better.

I can't stand US comedies, they are so forced and unfunny. I prefer something a bit more subtle and clever:

    1. Extras
    2. The Office (UK)
    3. The Trip
    4. Futurama
    5. This Time With Alan Partridge (the IRA singalong was the funniest thing I have seen in years).
    6. The League of Gentlemen

    Drama

    1. Battlestar Galactica (still one of the best TV series ever in terms of scope and emotions and production values).
    2. The Walking Dead (gone downhill now but in its peak years unmissable)
    3. Breaking Bad (I think maybe objectively the best TV series ever made)
    4. Game of Throne
    5. Fargo
    6. Legion

I have probably missed something really obvious though

The Sopranos is always the TV show I think of first whenever I'm asked my favourite show.

Honorable mentions to The Day Today & Brass Eye.

Never seen past Lost S2 or S3 or #8,9,10 on your list. Just started Walking Dead, up to S3 now.
