Two albums that seriously need the vinyl treatment. Disgusted that they have not seen an official release. Shame!
Fun interview between Robin Gibb and Leo Sayer with a lip-synced performance of Robin's Another Lonely Night In New York. Robin's enthusiasm for history is cute and infectious lol (I'm bit of a history buff myself so I can totally relate to his enthusiasm).
Another B-side unavailable on CD or streaming. From 1993 - this should have been on Size Isn't Everything and could have been a hit had it been released as a single. Much more radio friendly that "Paying The Price of Love".
My Destiny was included as a B-side on a number of CD singles of Paying the Price of Love outside North America.
"My Destiny" really is an awesome track. Love the guitar on it, great drumming and, of course, wonderful vocals. Robin throwing in the "Oh babe" is a highlight! How was this a B-side?!
Interesting and a bit unusual mix of vocals and a great song, first I have heard this one so a great pleasure.
Posted on the Bee Gees Facebook page: Bee Gees Spotted at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland - the #BeeGees! Have you seen their signature plaque before?
Love the Bee Gees ESP and One and Still Waters are such Cool albums. Bee Gees Greatest 2cd set on Reprise from 2007 is amazing. True heroes. Floyd.
The Bee Gees released a box set early in the game, so there's nothing after 1990. Here's my Disc Five (following the formula of including all US/UK singles and non-LP B-sides): Secret Love When He's Gone Paying The Price Of Love For Whom The Bell Tolls How To Fall In Love, Part 1 My Destiny 855-7019 Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow Alone Rings Around The Moon I Could Not Love You More Love Never Dies Still Waters (Run Deep) Islands In The Stream (Live) This Is Where I Came In Just In Case Promise The Earth I Will Be There
Posted on the Bee Gees Facebook page yesterday.... Get into the fall spirit with Barry and Jimmy Fallon #TBT (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon NBC) https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=899599660413538
Interesting running order. You need to fix disc four though, since they messed up singles on that one!
Disc One offers the best sound quality for the '60s songs. Bill Inglot was allowed to remix the songs from the original multi-tracks. The new remix/edit of "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" is the by far the best of all the stereo or mono mixes. "Words", "World", "Tomorrow, Tomorrow" and many B-Sides sound terrific on this compilation.
Barry Manilow - They write the songs Series 4 Episode 3 Release Date: 06 Oct 2019 Available for 29 days Barry marvels at the sheer output of Barry Gibb and the Bee Gees. Literally hundreds of songs! Barry tells the story of the Bee Gees' rise to fame, from their early harmonising as youngsters to their first recording hit ‘Spicks and Specks’. He traces their career through their more sophisticated writing on songs like ‘Massachusetts’, ‘I Started a Joke’ and ‘How Can You Mend A Broken Heart’ to their domination of disco with their most celebrated album ‘Saturday Night Fever’. Barry also discusses how the group survived a mauling by the rock critics and went on to write a succession of smash hits for other artists including Barbra Streisand's ‘Guilty’ and ‘A Woman in Love’, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's ‘Islands in the Stream’ and ‘Heartbreaker’ for Dionne Warwick. They Write the Songs - Series 4 - Episode 3 - BBC Sounds Nice effort and always nice to see a radio show focus on the brothers Gibb but Manilow really needs a good fact checker... *Sheesh*
Yes, it's always nice to hear their peers discuss their music, but the researcher screwed up quite a few times as far as chronology. And how about Barry Manilow mentioning such a rare track as "Charade"!
