(CD East Wind "East Wind Masters Collection 1000" UCCJ-9177) 2015 .... recorded May 12th + 13th, 1976 @ Vanguard Studios, NYC .... Art Farmer (flh) + Cedar Walton (p) + Sam Jones (b) + Billy Higgins (dr) .... mid70`s Art Farmer gem highlighting both his floating flugelhorn tone and the impeccable rhythm section (eulogised here before) .... obviously I`m a dedicated Art Farmer follower, but these East Wind sessions are special in their own right .... recording engineer David Baker and this edition`s DSD mastering grant outstanding sonics ....
Jimmy Lyons (2) / Andrew Cyrille – Burnt Offering Label: Black Saint – 120130-2 Format: CD, Album Country: Italy Released: 1991 Alto Saxophone – Jimmy Lyons (2) Percussion – Andrew Cyrille Written-By – Andrew Cyrille (tracks: 1, 2) Recorded May 15, 1982. A duet album, but it sounds like some overdubbing with different horn lines going at times...anyone know if that's the case? or is Lyons doing some Kirk-style multi-horn playing?
Jamaican Jazz Connections JAZZ JAMAICA - ERNEST RANGLIN (Federal/Dub Store Records) CD Ernest Ranglin (guitar). No other musician is credited. Ernest Ranglin - Jazz Jamaica, by Dub Store Records "Recorded in 1964 at the Federal studio, this elegant yet unique previously unreleased album is said to be the origin of the Jamaican Mento meets 4 Beat Jazz. This brilliant album is one of the most important Jamaican Jazz recordings that Ernest Ranglin has ever made. Everything in this album starts with the traditional Caribbean Jazz classics and then develops into 4 Beat Jazz. Produced by the Godfather of the Jamaican music, Ken Khouri." (from the Dub Store Records website.) The CD/LP album was first issued by Japanese owned Dub Store Records (in 2016?) in a sleeve that has a blank/white front cover! The back of the LP cover is used for the front of the CD sleeve (posted above) and includes most of the recordings details although on CD size it is not that easy to read. Playing time is just over 31 minutes.

Re Jazz Jamaica - Ernest Ranglin / https://dubstorerecords.bandcamp.com/album/ernest-ranglin-jazz-jamaica I found this at a reduced price and recommend listening to it all (Spotify) or sound samples before deciding if you want to pay import prices for a copy.

(CD SteepleChase Think! Records Japan "SteepleChase 45th Anniversary Legend Collection" THCD-466) 2017 .... recorded April 18th, 1975 @ Trixi Tonstudio München Germany .... Clifford Jordan (ts) + Cedar Walton (p) + Sam Jones (b) + Billy Higgins (dr) .... Clifford Jordan emerged as distinctive and important tenorsax player during his stint with Charles Mingus Group (feat Eric Dolphy ) in the 60`s, but his leader dates during said decade remained rather inconsistent .... things changed when he joined forces with one of the best 70`s rhythm sections aka Walton + Jones + Higgins and string of peerless dates - mostly on European soil - were recorded .... this date for Steeplechase is no exception to the rule and the japanese CD edition is the best sounding so far .... highly recommended ....
